TRAM Barcelona Cyberattack: NoName Group and Cyber Army of Russia Target Transportation Website

The website of Barcelona tram services, a vital component of Spain’s transportation network, has fallen victim to a cyberattack orchestrated by the pro-Russian hacker group “NoName.” The TRAM Barcelona cyberattack, in collaboration with the Cyber Army of Russia, has caused disruption to the website’s services.

The hacker group, identifying themselves as “NoName057(16)”, proudly claimed responsibility for the attack in a post, stating, “Supporting the attack by our friends from the People’s Cyber Army, we are taking down one of Spain’s transport websites.” This marks another bold move by the group, which has been actively targeting government agencies, media outlets, and private companies across Ukraine, the United States, and Europe since March 2022.

TRAM Barcelona, known for its historical significance dating back to 1872, has been a popular mode of transportation in Spain’s Catalonia region. The cyberattack on the website, which occurred on May 29, 2024, has left the site offline, with no official statement from the company regarding the incident or the status of its services.

This attack is part of a series of assaults by the NoName group, targeting various organizations globally. The lack of an official response from TRAM Barcelona raises concerns about the severity and credibility of the cyberattack claim. As the cybersecurity landscape evolves, it underscores the importance of enhancing security measures to combat the growing threat of cyberattacks. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
