Google Cloud celebrates one year anniversary of Doha Google Cloud launch

Google Cloud marked a significant milestone as it celebrated the one-year anniversary of the launch of the Doha Google Cloud region with the inaugural Google Cloud Doha Summit. The event, held at Stadium 974 in Doha, brought together over 1,000 attendees, including Google Cloud partners, customers, government officials, and industry leaders.

The summit served as a platform to reflect on the achievements of the past year and explore the future of cloud computing and AI. It highlighted the growth and potential of Qatar’s digital ecosystem, thanks to the visionary leadership of H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communication and Information Technology.

During the event, Mr. Sami Mohammed Al Shammari, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, commended Google Cloud for their valuable contribution to the development of the digital landscape in Qatar. He emphasized the importance of innovation and cutting-edge solutions in enhancing technological capabilities across various sectors.

Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, Managing Director, Turkey, Middle East & Africa, Google Cloud, reiterated the company’s commitment to Qatar’s digital and knowledge-based economy. He emphasized the continued investment in infrastructure, introduction of new services and features, and the fostering of a thriving ecosystem of partners and developers to unlock the full potential of Qatar’s digital landscape.

Ghassan Kosta, Regional Country Manager at Google Cloud, highlighted the incredible potential and growth witnessed in Qatar’s digital marketplace. He emphasized the company’s dedication to fostering a thriving ecosystem where businesses, government entities, and individuals can leverage the power of AI to drive real economic growth and create opportunities for everyone.
