Report: Insights into the Attitudes and Perspectives of Managed Service Providers (MSPs) in 2024

In a new report released in 2024, the challenges faced by Managed Service Providers (MSPs) in the cybersecurity landscape have come to light. The report, based on a survey of 350 MSPs in the US, UK, Australia, and Germany, reveals that 39% of MSPs cite keeping up with emerging cybersecurity solutions and technologies as their greatest challenge.

Industry leaders in cybersecurity have weighed in on these findings, offering insights and solutions to address the evolving threat landscape. Tom Corn, Chief Product Officer at Ontinue, emphasizes the importance of rationalizing security infrastructure to align policy and controls, reducing complexity and risk for organizations. Chad Graham, Manager of Cyber Incident Response Team at Critical Start, stresses the need for MSPs to stay ahead of key trends such as AI, machine learning, and zero trust architecture.

Furthermore, the report highlights the skills shortage in cybersecurity as a significant concern for MSPs. To address this issue, MSPs are urged to invest in continuous training for staff, leverage automation and AI technologies, and promote a strong cybersecurity culture within their organizations.

Dave Gerry, CEO at Bugcrowd, points out the benefits of automation, machine learning, and AI in creating a more efficient operating environment for MSPs. By streamlining technology offerings and hiring needs, MSPs can focus on hiring the right people to meet customer needs effectively.
