Synology Unveils ActiveProtect Appliances for Scalable, Centralised, and Streamlined Business Data Protection

Synology, a leading provider of data storage solutions, has unveiled its new ActiveProtect appliances designed to revolutionize data protection for businesses of all sizes. This purpose-built lineup combines centralised management with a highly scalable architecture to offer best-in-class ease of use.

According to Philip Wong, Chairman and CEO of Synology, the launch of ActiveProtect underscores the company’s commitment to empowering users with tools to manage their most valuable asset – data. In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, businesses face unprecedented challenges in safeguarding their data. With ActiveProtect, organisations can address cybersecurity challenges head-on and ensure comprehensive coverage for all critical endpoints, servers, storage systems, and cloud services.

Jia-Yu Liu, Executive Vice President at Synology, highlights that ActiveProtect is the culmination of extensive research and development, aiming to solve complex and costly data protection strategies with a single solution. IT teams can now deploy ActiveProtect appliances in minutes and create comprehensive data protection plans via a centralized console, significantly reducing operational overhead and offering high deployment flexibility.

The ActiveProtect appliances leverage incremental backups with advanced deduplication techniques to ensure fast backups and replication with minimal bandwidth usage. This efficient solution is up to seven times faster at backing up data, leading to significant cost savings for businesses.

ActiveProtect will be available through Synology distributors and partners later in 2024, providing organisations with a streamlined and scalable data protection solution for the modern business landscape.
