This trio had been orchestrating a local drug trade that included hydroponic cannabis, MDMA, Ecstasy pills, and LSD.
Key Players in the Operation
The suspects were identified as Ummidi Immanuel, the mastermind event manager; Chodavarapu Susmitha Devi, also known as Lilly, an employee at a software firm; and Gorla Sai, a delivery executive working for two prominent delivery apps. All three are residents of Kondapur, a bustling suburb of Hyderabad. Their digital savviness and operational secrecy allowed them to run their illicit business under the radar for an extended period.
Modern Methods of Procurement and Payment
According to police reports, Immanuel was responsible for sourcing the drugs through a network of unknown suppliers. His method of procurement involved accessing the Dark Web, utilizing the Tor browser to maintain anonymity. This innovative approach not only facilitated his drug purchases but also ensured that traditional supply chains were avoided.
Financial transactions were conducted using cryptocurrency, specifically payments made through platforms like Binance and Trust Wallet. By converting Indian rupees into US dollars, the trio could navigate around standard banking systems that would typically raise red flags during suspicious transactions.

Susmitha played a pivotal role in the operation, particularly in managing the finances associated with the drug sales. In Immanuel’s absence, she took charge of handling the online transactions and ensured that the proceeds from their illegal sales were deposited directly into her bank account. Delivery executive Gorla Sai was the final piece of the puzzle, tasked with transporting the drugs directly to consumers.
