“I think my final take is based upon how I started my career, which was trying to hack them on a penetration test,” he noted.
His perspective highlighted the pivotal role of “red teaming,” a term for testing AI infrastructures by challenging their security protocols. This isn’t about an aggressive strategy; rather, it’s an essential step for ensuring resilience against potential fraud or attack.
The Growing Threat of AI-Driven Deception
Arora’s insights also addressed the alarming ease with which AI can be weaponized. He recounted a striking incident where a deepfake impersonated his voice over a phone call to his staff, attempting to authorize a transaction. Fortunately, her suspicion flagged the deception.
“Three years ago, my chief of staff got a WhatsApp call mimicking my own voice, asking to process a transaction. She got suspicious and eventually figured out this was a deepfake call,” he shared.
This anecdote sheds light on a pressing concern: AI threats are no longer hypothetical scenarios; they are real and widespread. Reports indicate that systems are encountering between 70,000 to 100,000 new deepfake audio calls monthly, with many sophisticated enough to slip past detection measures.

The need for adaptive governance frameworks became a recurring theme, to reflect national priorities and security challenges.
