International Women’s Day 2026: 33 Women Cyber Cops Recognized for Strengthening India’s Cyber Crime Defense

On International Women’s Day 2026, the Centre for Police Technology (CPT) announced the recognition of 33 Outstanding Women Cyber Cops from across India. This initiative acknowledges their exceptional contributions to enhancing the nation’s cyber policing framework.

These officers are being honored for their dedicated efforts in various areas, including cyber crime investigation, prevention and detection, digital forensics, cyber training initiatives, and public awareness campaigns. Their relentless work has played a crucial role in protecting citizens in an increasingly complex digital environment.

The CPT aims to shine a light on the often-overlooked contributions of frontline cyber policing practitioners. Many of these women operate in technical and investigative roles, and their efforts frequently go unrecognized. By honoring them, the CPT seeks to elevate the visibility of women professionals actively combating cyber crime and fortifying India’s digital security infrastructure.

Prof. Triveni Singh, former IPS officer and Chair & Chief Mentor of the Future Crime Research Foundation, emphasized the importance of these women officers, stating that they are “the true frontline defenders of the digital domain.” He noted their relentless work in investigating cyber crimes, building cyber capabilities, and promoting cyber awareness among citizens.

The selection process for the awards involved a comprehensive evaluation framework. The jury reviewed media reports, social media presence, peer reviews, self-nominations, documented initiatives, and feedback from senior leadership to identify the awardees.

The 33 Women Cyber Cops will receive a Certificate of Honour from the Centre for Police Technology, recognizing their outstanding service in enhancing cyber crime investigation and digital policing in India. This initiative reaffirms the CPT’s commitment to acknowledging grassroots innovation and excellence in cyber policing, while also inspiring more women officers to assume leadership roles in addressing cyber crime challenges and securing Digital India.
