Singapore Cybersecurity Firms Showcase SME-Focused Innovations to Combat Escalating Cyber Threats at RSAC 2026 Conference
As global cyber threats escalate, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has projected that the economic impact of cyberattacks will rise from US$8.44 trillion in 2022 to US$23.84 trillion by 2027. This alarming trend underscores a growing chasm between increasing risks and the readiness of organizations to combat them. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are vital to most economies, find themselves particularly exposed. The WEF’s 2024 Global Cybersecurity Outlook indicates that limited access to cybersecurity services, tools, and skilled personnel hampers these organizations from achieving even basic resilience in an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.
The Vulnerability of SMEs
SMEs face unique challenges in the cybersecurity realm. They often lack the resources to implement robust security measures, making them prime targets for cybercriminals. Common vulnerabilities include accidental data leaks and unpatched software flaws, particularly in open-source components used in modern applications. The urgency for effective cybersecurity solutions tailored for SMEs is more pressing than ever.
To address these challenges, three Singaporean companies—AgileMark, Scantist, and StrongKeep—are pioneering innovative technologies aimed at enhancing cybersecurity for businesses lacking dedicated security teams. Their solutions focus on improving data loss protection, mitigating risks associated with human behavior, and simplifying the adoption of essential security measures through user-friendly platforms.
Innovative Solutions from Singapore
These companies are backed by the S$20 million CyberSG Talent, Innovation and Growth Collaboration Centre (TIG Centre), a joint initiative between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). The TIG Centre collaborates closely with cybersecurity firms and startups to co-develop solutions that help organizations stay ahead of emerging threats while facilitating the safe adoption of new technologies.
Willis Lim, Executive Director of the TIG Centre, emphasized the pressing need for effective cybersecurity solutions. He noted that many SMEs struggle with escalating cyber risks while often lacking the resources to protect themselves adequately. In Singapore, online scams and ransomware attacks are significant concerns. The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming both the nature of cyber threats and the strategies for defense, expanding the attack surface for enterprises.
AgileMark: Preventing Data Leaks
AgileMark addresses the issue of data exposure, which frequently arises from everyday human actions rather than sophisticated cyberattacks. The company has developed a solution that introduces dynamic watermarks on corporate screens, serving as behavioral cues to deter unauthorized capture of sensitive information. This approach not only enhances employee awareness of data sensitivity but also enables traceability in the event of a leak. AgileMark’s user-centric design acknowledges the constraints faced by SMEs, such as limited time and expertise, and focuses on modifying user behavior rather than complicating existing systems. Currently, AgileMark protects over 300,000 devices globally, significantly reducing investigation times for potential data breaches.
Scantist: Identifying Security Flaws
As organizations accelerate their software development processes, reliance on open-source components and third-party dependencies has heightened exposure to supply chain risks and vulnerabilities. Scantist offers an AI-powered application security platform that assists organizations in managing open-source and software supply chain risks throughout the development lifecycle. Additionally, Scantist provides an autonomous penetration testing solution that simulates attacker behavior, allowing for more frequent testing and reducing assessment timelines from days to hours. This accessibility is particularly beneficial for SMEs, enabling them to enhance their security posture without the need for extensive in-house security teams.
StrongKeep: Simplifying Cybersecurity for SMEs
StrongKeep tackles the barriers SMEs face in adopting cybersecurity tools, such as cost and complexity. The company has developed an all-in-one cybersecurity platform that integrates essential protections, including device security, website filtering, phishing awareness training, and password management. This platform can be deployed in under 60 minutes, even without dedicated cybersecurity staff. With subscription plans starting at S$39 per month, StrongKeep enables SMEs to achieve comprehensive protection and compliance significantly faster than traditional methods.
Showcasing Innovations at RSAC 2026
AgileMark, Scantist, and StrongKeep are among eight companies supported by the TIG Centre that will showcase their solutions at Singapore’s national pavilion during the RSAC 2026 Conference, taking place from March 23 to 26, 2026, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Organized by the TIG Centre and SGTech, the leading trade association for Singapore’s tech industry, the Singapore Pavilion highlights the country’s role as a hub for cybersecurity innovation and a strategic gateway to Asia’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
According to publicly available www.manilatimes.net reporting, the innovations presented at this conference are expected to play a crucial role in addressing the cybersecurity challenges faced by SMEs, thereby enhancing their resilience against evolving threats.
