Sparkle Pioneers Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) with Quantum-Safe Internet Use Case

Sparkle, a leading international service provider in Italy, has made a groundbreaking announcement regarding the successful completion of a Network-as-a-Service Proof of Concept (PoC) on a quantum-safe Internet use case. Collaborating with industry giants such as Arqit Quantum, Intel, Adtran, and Telsy, the TIM Group subsidiary specializing in cybersecurity, Sparkle conducted the trial on its metropolitan fibre optic network in Athens.

This PoC showcased the implementation of an on-demand MEF Internet Access Service secured by post-quantum cryptography, highlighting the agility and automation capabilities of the network. By integrating Arqit quantum-safe encryption with Intel-powered NetSec accelerator card, Sparkle tested the instantiation of a NaaS solution comprising networking and security functionalities.

Daniele Mancuso, Chief Marketing and Product Management at Sparkle, emphasized their vision of seamless, secure, and adaptable connectivity for businesses. The NaaS solution aims to offer flexible and on-demand network services tailored to each customer’s unique requirements, ensuring unparalleled performance and reliability.

The commercial launch of Sparkle’s NaaS/Quantum-Safe Internet (NaaS/QSI) is scheduled for later this year, with plans to introduce additional use cases in Sparkle’s NaaS Suite. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the evolution of secure network services, setting a new standard for the industry. Stay tuned for more updates on Sparkle’s innovative NaaS solutions and their impact on the global connectivity landscape.
