Oracle Expands Cloud Services with New Region in Saudi Arabia

In response to the increasing demand for AI and cloud services, Oracle has announced the opening of its second public cloud region in Saudi Arabia. The new Riyadh cloud region will cater to both public and private sector organizations looking to migrate their workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and access a wide range of cloud services for application modernization and innovation in data, analytics, and AI.

Center3, the host partner for the new Oracle Cloud Riyadh Region, will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of the Kingdom’s AI economy, which is projected to reach $135.2 billion by 2030. This expansion is part of Oracle’s distributed cloud strategy and its $1.5 billion investment to enhance cloud infrastructure capabilities in Saudi Arabia.

The Oracle Cloud Riyadh Region joins the existing Oracle Cloud Jeddah Region and the planned Oracle Cloud Region in NEOM, further extending Oracle’s presence in the Kingdom. As the only hyperscaler capable of delivering AI and a full suite of 100+ cloud services across dedicated, public, and hybrid cloud environments globally, Oracle aims to accelerate the adoption of cloud and AI technologies in Saudi Arabia.

Richard Smith, Executive Vice President and General Manager, EMEA Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle, expressed Oracle’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia in developing a robust digital economy. The Oracle Cloud Riyadh Region will facilitate the adoption of cloud and AI technologies across various sectors, addressing local data hosting requirements and promoting innovation.

Partners and analysts have welcomed the new public cloud region, emphasizing its role in enhancing data sovereignty, driving digital transformation, and empowering businesses in Saudi Arabia to achieve greater agility and growth. Oracle’s expansion of its cloud footprint in the Kingdom is seen as vital for companies leveraging AI capabilities and aiming to innovate efficiently and effectively while complying with national regulations.
