Elon Musk and Donald Trump Live Stream Cyberattack: What Happened?

Elon Musk and Donald Trump were set to have a highly anticipated three-hour chat on social media, but things took an unexpected turn when the platform crashed due to a cyberattack. The two billionaires, known for their outspoken personalities, were scheduled to go live on Musk’s X Spaces at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Trump’s account.

As users eagerly tried to tune in to hear the conversation on topics ranging from Big Tech to the upcoming US presidential race, they were met with technical difficulties. The live stream showed a staggering 17.5 million views within half an hour, but many users reported being unable to access the chat space.

Musk eventually addressed the issue, attributing it to a malicious distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on X. Despite the setback, Musk assured viewers that they would proceed with a smaller number of live listeners or post the conversation later.

This isn’t the first time Musk has faced technical issues with X, as a similar incident occurred during the live stream campaign launch of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Despite the challenges, Musk remains determined to provide entertainment on his platform.

Trump, who has been relatively silent on social media since his ban in 2021, made a grand entrance on X to promote the event, promising “the interview of the century.” Eventually, the chat went live, and viewers were able to catch up on the much-anticipated conversation between the two influential figures.
