In a significant move to enhance economic collaboration, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) convened with the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CCAB) to explore avenues for bolstering trade and investment between Sharjah and Brazil. This meeting underscores SCCI’s commitment to fostering strategic international partnerships aimed at expanding market access for local businesses into promising Latin American markets.

Strengthening Bilateral Trade Initiatives

H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, hosted a delegation from CCAB, led by Mohamad Orra Mourad, Secretary-General and President of International Relations. The meeting, held at the SCCI headquarters, included key figures such as Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector, and Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of the International Relations Department at SCCI.

The discussions primarily focused on enhancing economic cooperation between the business sectors of Sharjah and Brazil. Both organizations emphasized their roles in facilitating bilateral trade and promoting cross-border investments. The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of the integrated services offered by SCCI to support business growth and connectivity in global markets.

Invitation to the 5th Arab-Brazilian Economic Forum

During the meeting, H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais received an official invitation to participate in the upcoming 5th Arab-Brazilian Economic Forum, scheduled for August 25 in São Paulo. This forum, organized in collaboration with the Union of Arab Chambers and under the patronage of the League of Arab States, will focus on the theme “The Global Economy in Transformation: A New Agenda between Brazil and the Arab Countries.” The event aims to foster deeper economic cooperation and create new partnership opportunities for private-sector stakeholders.

Economic Relations: A Steady Growth Trajectory

H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais highlighted the enduring economic ties between the UAE, particularly Sharjah, and Brazil. He noted that these relationships are steadily evolving, reflecting a mutual commitment to establishing sustainable investment partnerships. Al Owais reaffirmed SCCI’s dedication to empowering the emirate’s private sector to broaden its international footprint while promoting Sharjah’s competitive advantages as a premier global investment destination.

“The Sharjah Chamber continues to leverage its participation in international economic forums and trade missions to reinforce Sharjah’s position as a leading gateway for trade and investment in the region,” he stated. This approach supports sustainable economic growth and aligns with the emirate’s innovation-driven development strategy.

The Role of SCCI in Global Economic Connectivity

The Brazilian delegation commended SCCI for its proactive role in supporting the business community and fostering international partnerships. They acknowledged that CCAB operates with a clear strategic vision aimed at diversifying bilateral trade and investment, positioning Arab nations among Brazil’s key trading partners.

The delegation emphasized the importance of SCCI’s extensive network of representatives and regional offices, which lays a robust foundation for deepening strategic partnerships and facilitating sustainable business relationships between the two markets. SCCI’s initiatives are designed to empower the local business community and enhance its global competitiveness. By offering integrated smart services and interactive business platforms, the Chamber enables Sharjah-based companies to tap into new high-potential markets and seize emerging international trade opportunities.

Longstanding Relationship and Future Prospects

The relationship between SCCI and CCAB has been fortified through reciprocal visits and collaborative initiatives that have significantly expanded economic cooperation. This partnership continues to showcase investment opportunities across key strategic sectors while enhancing business connectivity between the two regions.

As the global economic landscape evolves, the collaboration between Sharjah and Brazil is poised to play a crucial role in shaping future trade dynamics. The emphasis on cybersecurity and digital transformation will be vital as both regions navigate the complexities of modern commerce.
