Apple Launches 2026 Device Lineup with Foldable iPhone Duo
Apple has officially unveiled its 2026 device portfolio, introducing a range of innovative products including the highly anticipated foldable iPhone Duo, the iPhone 18 Pro models, two new Apple Watch variants, and the AirPods 5. This launch marks a significant step for Apple as it enters the foldable smartphone market, showcasing advancements in technology and design.
Innovative Features of the iPhone Duo
The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display, both designed to maintain visual continuity with the same aspect ratio. The inner Super Retina XDR display is reported to be 50% larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro Max, with a nano-texture finish to reduce glare and visibility of screen creases. Both displays support ProMotion and Always-On technology, with peak outdoor brightness reaching up to 3,000 nits.
“iPhone Duo is the most transformational change to iPhone since the original,” said John Ternus, CEO of Apple.
Constructed from grade 5 titanium, the iPhone Duo incorporates a precision hinge with over 100 components and boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The device is equipped with a 48MP Fusion Main camera and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera, featuring new functionalities such as Smart Take and Duo Preview, which enhance the photography experience.
Enhanced Capabilities in iPhone 18 Pro Models
Alongside the iPhone Duo, Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with a variable aperture. This allows for greater control over depth of field and light intake, enhancing the photography capabilities of the device. Both models are powered by the new A20 Pro chip, which offers improved memory bandwidth and AI processing capabilities.
The iPhone 18 Pro models also support advanced connectivity options with Apple’s N1 wireless networking chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Battery life is impressive, with the iPhone 18 Pro offering up to 36 hours of video playback and the Pro Max up to 45 hours.
New Health Features in Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4
The Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 introduce a new Health Sensing System powered by the S11 chip. This system includes redesigned heart sensors that measure heart rate every five seconds and provide insights into heart rate variability. The Series 12 is designed to be a comprehensive health and fitness companion, offering features that analyze activity and generate daily readiness scores.
Both watches are available for pre-order, with the Series 12 starting at Dh1,599 and the Ultra 4 at Dh3,199. The Ultra 4 extends battery life significantly, offering up to 50 hours of everyday use.
AirPods 5: Enhanced Sound Quality and Noise Cancellation
The new AirPods 5 feature a multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ, improving sound quality across various ear shapes. The open-ear Active Noise Cancellation system is said to remove up to 50% more external noise compared to its predecessor, making it a compelling option for users seeking high-quality audio experiences.
AirPods 5 are priced at Dh539, with a version that includes a Wireless Charging Case available for Dh629. Pre-orders for the AirPods 5 begin immediately, with retail availability set for September 18.
