The Financial Burden of Cybercrime: Which States are Losing the Most Money?

According to a recent analysis by NoDepositRewards using data from the FBI crime report, Nevada is facing the highest financial burden of cybercrime in the United States. With a total loss of $6,286,710.72 per 100,000 residents, the state has seen 7,198 citizens fall victim to cybercrimes, with each victim losing an average of $27,897.83.

Following closely behind Nevada is California, with a total loss of $5,535,081.99 per 100,000 people. The state reported 51,319 victims of cybercrimes, with an average loss of $42,026.45 per person. New Jersey, Arizona, Alaska, Montana, South Dakota, Utah, Florida, and New York also made it to the top ten list of states facing the highest financial losses due to cybercrimes.

The data highlights the growing threat of cybercrimes across the country, impacting individuals, businesses, and the economy as a whole. As more and more people rely on digital technology for everyday tasks, the risk of falling victim to cybercrimes continues to increase.
