Nutanix Study Reveals Surge in Hybrid Multicloud Adoption Among Healthcare Organizations

Healthcare organisations are ramping up their adoption of hybrid multicloud models, according to Nutanix’s latest Healthcare Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) survey. The report highlights that the use of hybrid multicloud solutions in healthcare is expected to double in the next one to three years.

With the increasing pressure to modernise IT infrastructures in order to leverage AI capabilities, enhance security measures, and promote sustainability, healthcare organisations are striving to stay ahead of the curve. This shift is especially crucial in light of the strict regulations governing the handling of personal health information (PHI) such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Scott Ragsdale, Sr. Director of Sales, US Healthcare at Nutanix, noted the significant progress in technology adoption within the healthcare sector, driven by the demand for data portability and the integration of AI technologies. In fact, 80% of Healthcare ECI respondents across industries are planning to invest in IT modernisation, with a specific focus on supporting AI applications.

Key findings from the report underscore the increasing reliance on multiple IT operating models, the prioritisation of workload portability and AI support, and the growing significance of security and compliance concerns. Healthcare organisations are recognizing the potential of AI in improving patient outcomes and clinician productivity, but also acknowledge the challenges in implementing and managing these advanced technologies.

As the healthcare industry continues to navigate the complexities of digital transformation, the adoption of hybrid multicloud solutions emerges as a strategic imperative for organisations seeking to enhance operational efficiency, ensure data security, and drive innovation in patient care.
