Transforming E-Government: TAMM’s Award-Winning Journey

In a world where digital transformation is reshaping everyday interactions, TAMM has emerged as a beacon of progress, earning recognition as the best E-Government project at the prestigious WSIS Prizes 2025. This accolade, presented during a ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 7, highlights Abu Dhabi’s ambition to lead in AI-powered government services.

Revolutionizing Government Services

Launched as a cornerstone initiative by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE), TAMM reflects an extensive collaboration with over 40 government entities. Part of the Abu Dhabi Digital Strategy 2025-2027, TAMM has drastically improved how the public interacts with government services, making accessibility faster and more straightforward.

With its innovative AI Assistant introduced in late 2024, TAMM has revolutionized customer service, facilitating over 700,000 conversations and resolving 1.4 million cases. It impressively offers support in over 90 languages, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and ease of use. Notably, this initiative is groundbreaking; it leverages conversational AI not just for answering queries but for delivering government services directly to users.

A Vision Realized

Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, the Chairman of DGE, emphasized that this recognition embodies a collective ambition to foster a government that prioritizes its citizens. "TAMM represents the best of what’s possible when we combine innovation with empathy, and technology with purpose," he states. This philosophy underpins a governmental framework designed to be as intuitive as it is efficient, anticipating user needs while removing procedural barriers.

The commitment to improving quality of life is similarly echoed by Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zeitoun Al Muhairi, the Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police. He notes that TAMM streamlines processes through advanced AI capabilities, saving countless hours in daily operations while enhancing service reliability. This leap in technology not only aligns with the security goals of the Abu Dhabi Police but also reaffirms their role as a proactive force in community well-being.

The Broader Impact on Society

The transformative power of TAMM extends beyond mere functionality—it’s about enriching the human experience. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, underscores that processes that once consumed days are now completed in minutes, allowing residents to engage more fully in their community. The award-winning AI Assistant personalizes service experiences, truly encapsulating the essence of a user-centered government.

In the realm of healthcare, Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health, reinforces that TAMM plays a vital role in Abu Dhabi’s vision for a smart health system. He highlights how it revolutionizes access to health services, fortifying a user experience that promotes preventative care and personalized solutions.

Moreover, Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, notes that TAMM is a tool for societal enhancement. It not only simplifies access to services but also empowers citizens, facilitating a higher quality of life by directly aligning government functions with community aspirations.

Recognition and Future Aspirations

The WSIS Prizes, spearheaded by the International Telecommunication Union, serve to honor remarkable contributions to information and communication technology worldwide—especially those that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With fierce competition across 18 categories, TAMM’s selection as a winner reflects its significant role in facilitating sustainable development through digital means.

This application has simplified government services for 3.3 million users, converging multiple services into a single, efficient portal. From renewing identification to scheduling vehicle inspections, TAMM utilizes AI to resolve 95% of requests automatically, allowing human agents to dedicate their expertise to more complex issues.

Since its inception, the WSIS Prizes have celebrated transformative ICT projects globally. For TAMM, this accolade is more than just an award; it is a testament to ongoing digital transformation efforts that aim to elevate the quality of community life in Abu Dhabi.

In conclusion, as TAMM continues to evolve, it not only sets a benchmark for e-government initiatives worldwide but also redefines what is achievable in public service through technology, showcasing a government that is not just efficient, but also deeply attuned to the needs of its people.
