However, a worrying trend has emerged: many companies lack the confidence to safeguard their AI implementations. A recent survey highlighted that one in three companies in the UAE expressed trepidation about detecting unauthorized AI usage, while nearly 40 percent of organizations in Saudi Arabia reported uncertainty regarding their AI visibility. Damian Wilk, General Manager for EMEA Emerging Markets at Gigamon, emphasized the urgency of addressing this challenge. "Organizations across the Middle East and Africa are rapidly embracing artificial intelligence to drive business value as part of their digital transformation journeys. However, with this rapid adoption comes the fundamental need for deep observability to safeguard hybrid cloud infrastructure," he noted. Gigamon’s newly introduced Deep Observability Pipeline aims to illuminate AI traffic, including both lateral and encrypted traffic, thereby proactively identifying threats and mitigating risks to businesses.

The Challenge of Expanding AI Workloads

As Generative AI (GenAI) workloads proliferate, the complexity of organizational data flows intensifies. Recent research, including the 2025 Hybrid Cloud Security Survey, reveals troubling statistics: one in three organizations reported a doubling of network traffic due to AI workloads. Alarmingly, 55 percent stated that their existing tools failed to adequately detect modern threats. In response to these challenges, a staggering 88 percent of security and IT leaders now recognize deep observability as crucial for securing and scaling AI deployments across hybrid clouds.

Michael Dickman, Chief Product Officer at Gigamon, elaborated on this dual focus. “As GenAI use matures in organizations, we’re focused on both AI for security and security for AI. It has never been more true that you cannot secure what you cannot see,” he said. This principle is encapsulated in the innovative features of the Deep Observability Pipeline, designed specifically to enhance visibility into AI traffic and workloads, including shadow AI usage.

Cutting-Edge Innovations in AI Traffic Intelligence

Among the standout innovations is Gigamon AI Traffic Intelligence, which offers organizations real-time visibility into GenAI and Large Language Model (LLM) activities across 17 leading engines, including ChatGPT and Gemini. This solution allows for user-defined targeting beyond the core offerings, ensuring that organizations can effectively monitor even encrypted data flows. By surfacing shadow AI usage, companies can implement more effective, policy-driven governance while gaining insights into trends and patterns that aid in cost management and security.

Bob Laliberte, Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research, commented on Gigamon’s strategic positioning. “As AI increases the complexity and volume of network traffic, clear visibility into GenAI activity has become critical. Gigamon is well-positioned to meet these emerging challenges by delivering the requisite insights to monitor AI usage, regain control, and take decisive action.”

Enhancing Productivity with GigaVUE-FM Copilot

In tandem with the AI Traffic Intelligence, Gigamon has launched GigaVUE-FM Copilot. This GenAI-powered assistant is engineered to streamline the onboarding, configuration, management, and troubleshooting processes within Gigamon environments. Utilizing a natural language interface, Copilot assists users by securely connecting them to an internal knowledge base, which includes technical documentation and deployment guides. This capability not only simplifies complex workflows but also empowers teams to resolve issues independently, thus reducing dependency on higher-tier support.

Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Innovation

The introduction of these innovative tools marks the first step in Gigamon’s expansive AI strategy. The AI Traffic Intelligence feature is currently available to all GigaVUE Cloud Suite customers, while GigaVUE-FM Copilot is in early access, with a wider rollout anticipated in the latter half of 2025. Planned innovations will be showcased at the upcoming Gigamon Visualyze Bootcamp, a virtual customer conference set for September 9–11.
