Gigamon’s Pioneering AI Strategy: Redefining Hybrid Cloud Security
As organizations increasingly navigate the intricacies of hybrid cloud environments, the need for robust security and effective management has reached critical levels. In response, Gigamon has unveiled the first phase of its groundbreaking multi-year AI strategy, aimed at providing organizations with the tools necessary to secure and manage their cloud infrastructure. With the introduction of innovative solutions like Gigamon AI Traffic Intelligence and GigaVUE Fabric Manager (FM) Copilot, the company is setting a new standard for visibility and governance in the complex world of cloud data.
A Tailored Approach to Hybrid Cloud Security
The digital landscape is undergoing rapid transformation, particularly in regions such as the Middle East and Africa, where businesses are rapidly adopting artificial intelligence to enhance their operations. However, this swift technological evolution has surfaced significant concerns around visibility and governance. A recent survey conducted in the UAE revealed that a staggering one in three companies lack confidence in their ability to detect unauthorized use of AI, highlighting an immediate need for effective governance solutions. Similarly, in Saudi Arabia, nearly 40% of organizations expressed uncertainty about their visibility into AI usage.
Damian Wilk, general manager for EMEA Emerging Markets at Gigamon, underscores this urgency: “Organizations across the Middle East and Africa are rapidly embracing artificial intelligence to drive business value… However, with this rapid adoption comes the fundamental need for deep observability to safeguard hybrid cloud infrastructure.”
Addressing Complex Security Challenges
As organizations grapple with escalating data volumes and expanding attack surfaces driven by AI workloads, they face a pressing challenge: identifying which AI services are in active use. The 2025 Hybrid Cloud Security Survey, which queried over 1,000 Security and IT leaders globally, spotlighted this issue. It found that one in three respondents reported a doubling of network traffic due to AI workloads. Alarmingly, 55% of these leaders stated that their existing tools were failing to detect modern threats. In the face of these challenges, 88% now view deep observability—an approach that combines network telemetry with log data—as essential for securing and scaling AI deployments.
Michael Dickman, chief product officer at Gigamon, articulated this perspective: “It has never been more true that you cannot secure what you cannot see. Visibility into AI traffic and workloads… is critical for today’s Security and IT teams.” This necessity has informed Gigamon’s strategic integration of AI into its Deep Observability Pipeline, providing organizations with practical capabilities to fortify their cybersecurity efforts amid the frenetic pace of AI adoption.
Real-Time Insights with Advanced AI Tools
Gigamon’s AI Traffic Intelligence capability marks a significant advancement, offering real-time visibility into activities associated with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). Supporting 17 leading engines, including ChatGPT and Gemini, this tool not only enhances monitoring capabilities, but also allows organizations to target additional models based on user-defined needs. Crucially, it provides insights even into encrypted data, surfacing shadow AI usage and empowering teams with the telemetry needed to make informed governance decisions.
Bob Laliberte, a principal analyst at theCUBE Research, emphasizes the importance of Gigamon’s approach in today’s digital environment: “As AI increases the complexity and volume of network traffic, clear visibility into GenAI activity has become critical. Gigamon is well-positioned to meet these emerging challenges by delivering the requisite insights to monitor AI usage, regain control, and take decisive action.”
Streamlining Operations with GigaVUE FM Copilot
In addition to AI Traffic Intelligence, Gigamon has rolled out GigaVUE-FM Copilot, a GenAI-powered assistant designed to simplify the management of complex environments. This innovative tool streamlines onboarding, configuration, and troubleshooting of Gigamon systems, marking a clear pivot towards enhancing productivity for Security and IT teams. Through a user-friendly natural language interface, the Copilot securely connects users to an extensive internal knowledge base, offering context-aware answers that empower teams to tackle issues independently and reduce their reliance on higher-tier support.
Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Innovation
Gigamon’s new offerings are currently available for all GigaVUE Cloud Suite customers. The GigaVUE-FM Copilot is in early access for select clients, with broader availability anticipated in the latter half of 2025. As part of its multi-phase strategy, Gigamon plans to unveil additional AI-driven innovations, underscoring its commitment to addressing the evolving demands of hybrid infrastructure management.
With a clear focus on the future, Gigamon’s initiatives not only respond to the pressing needs of organizations today but also pave the way for a more secure digital future. As businesses harness the power of AI, the paramount importance of visibility and governance remains unmistakable—a reality that Gigamon is poised to lead as it drives ongoing innovation in the realm of hybrid cloud security.
