Rave Party Raid in Kondapur: Nine Arrested for Drug Offenses

Late on Saturday, a significant law enforcement operation led by the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department resulted in the arrest of nine individuals at a rave party held in a service apartment in Kondapur. The raid uncovered a sizable stash of narcotics, including illicit drugs reportedly sourced from the dark web.

Key Players in the Operation

Among those arrested was Kenger Rahul, believed to be the principal supplier of the drugs obtained through the dark web. Others implicated include Unnati Emmanuel—commonly referred to by several aliases including Anil and Praveen Kumar—who is known for distributing drugs at various parties, and Appikatla Ashok Naidu, the alleged organizer of the event.

The group also includes Sammela Sai Krishna, Nagella Leela Manikanta, Hilton Joseph Rolf, Adapa Yashwant Sridutta, Thota Kumaraswamy, and Nandam Sumanth Teja, all of whom are charged with drug peddling or consumption.

The Raid Unfolds

Acting on actionable intelligence, STF officers conducted close surveillance in the Kondapur area before moving in on the gathering at SV Nilayam, a service apartment booked via Airbnb. This swift action led to the interception of the party and the seizure of multiple narcotics.

Authorities discovered an arsenal of drugs onsite: 2.08 kilograms of dry ganja, 50 grams of hybrid ganja (OG Kush), 11.57 grams of magic mushrooms, 1.91 grams of charas, and four LSD blot papers. These substances highlight the evolving landscape of drug use, where trends like hybrid ganja and psychedelic mushrooms are gaining popularity.

Additional Seizures and Ongoing Investigations

In a further inspection, the STF seized not only the drugs but also two vehicles and eleven mobile phones, which may offer insights into the gang’s operations and connections. Two suspects, Srinivas Choudhary alias Vasu and Akhil, have yet to be apprehended and are wanted for their involvement in facilitating the drug activities.

All arrested individuals hail from various regions in Andhra Pradesh, including Mangalagiri, Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Rajamahendravaram. The case has since been forwarded to the Serilingampally police for further investigation.

Implications for Public Safety

The increasing prevalence of drug use, particularly among younger demographics in urban areas, raises ongoing concerns about the environment in which such gatherings occur. Events like these not only pose severe health risks to participants but also create safety hazards for the surrounding communities.

The concerted efforts by law enforcement agencies highlight the importance of tackling drug-related issues head-on, especially as new trends emerge in the distribution and consumption of narcotics sourced online. The involvement of deep web platforms in trafficking drugs presents significant challenges, necessitating stronger measures to combat this illicit activity.

As the investigation unfolds and more details become available, it’s clear that the nexus of technology and drug culture continues to evolve, demanding ongoing vigilance from both authorities and communities alike.
