France’s Participation in WETEX 2025: A Commitment to Sustainability
United Arab Emirates, Dubai – France is set to play a significant role in WETEX 2025, the premier exhibition for water, energy, and environmental technologies. Scheduled for September 30 to October 2, this event gathers 13 innovative French companies, including nine first-time exhibitors at the dedicated French Pavilion, organized by Business France. These firms are eager to showcase their pioneering solutions focused on water efficiency, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
Commitment to Sustainable Development
The French delegation epitomizes excellence in water sustainability and smart energy systems, resonating with the UAE’s ambitious targets for Net Zero by 2050 and its Water Security Strategy for 2036. Axel Baroux, Managing Director of Business France for the Near and Middle East, asserts, “WETEX offers unmatched access to the region’s key decision-makers and project developers. France’s delegation reflects not just innovation but a long-term commitment to helping the Gulf build a sustainable, high-performance future.”
Supporting the UAE’s Vision for Sustainability
The UAE government is committing over AED 200 billion by 2030 to meet the increasing need for sustainable energy while ensuring water security in the face of climate change. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has laid out ambitious objectives, such as reducing water demand by 21%, reusing 95% of treated water, and lowering the water scarcity index by three points by 2036.
These objectives align with broader national agendas that include Emiratization, talent retention, and knowledge transfer, all designed to build sovereign capabilities in the energy and environmental sectors. French companies, recognized for their expertise in decarbonization, waste-to-energy solutions, and AI-driven environmental monitoring, are well-positioned as partners in this transformation.
French Innovations in Water Sustainability
Among the French firms making a significant impact in the UAE’s water security strategy is Veolia. This company utilizes advanced technologies like multi-barrier filtration and AI-enabled monitoring systems to maximize water reuse while maintaining high-quality standards. Their established public-private partnerships and robust local presence underscore their commitment to the UAE’s long-term sustainability goals.
Recently, their leadership was acknowledged at the 2025 Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, featuring two French firms honored for their innovative contributions:
- Kumulus SAS received recognition for its solar-powered atmospheric water generator, capable of producing up to 30 liters of drinking water daily from air.
- STEM SAS was awarded for its energy-efficient AQUAHIVE system, used for purifying seawater and wastewater through membrane distillation.
Showcasing Cleantech Innovations
The French Pavilion at WETEX 2025 will present a variety of technologies aimed at supporting the UAE’s energy and water transition. For water innovation, companies like Air Water Activity and Helio Water will showcase methods for generating clean drinking water from air humidity and solar power. Additionally, Aquaspot and Cifec will introduce efficient systems designed for water conservation and treatment in both industrial and collective settings.
In terms of resilience, Flowstop Industrie will display inflatable flood barriers designed to protect infrastructures, while Hemera will present real-time monitoring solutions that safeguard both environmental and industrial processes. The renewable energy sector will be represented by Stolect, Sunstream International, and Vaisala France, who will showcase advancements in electricity storage and mobile solar generation technology.
Also in focus will be industrial efficiency solutions from Bernard Controls and Leroux et Lotz Technologies, who will introduce smart valve actuation systems and waste-to-energy boilers respectively. Apart from this, Trouvay & Cauvin will emphasize their expertise in desalination and water networks, while YellowScan will present their drone-based lidar sensors for precise mapping in challenging environments.
