New Leadership Team Announced for C+ in Africa

C+ has officially introduced its new leadership team for the merged businesses across Africa, marking a significant step in the integration of CANAL+ and MultiChoice Group. This development brings together two established entities in the industry to enhance service delivery across the continent.

Changes in Executive Roles

Calvo Mawela, the former CEO of MultiChoice, has taken on the role of Chairman of CANAL+ Africa. This new position reflects the broader scope of responsibilities that now encompasses not just MultiChoice, but also the entire African market, including French-speaking regions. David Mignot has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of this newly formed entity, leading a team that combines talent from both companies.

In an address to the new management team, David Mignot emphasized the strength and experience of the leadership group. He noted that the team, representing seven different nationalities, is well-equipped to drive growth and deliver quality content tailored to African audiences. The focus will be on showcasing distinctive African narratives while also providing internationally recognized programming to the subscriber base.

A Unified Approach to Operations

The new leadership structure introduces a cohesive management team that will oversee operations across Africa. The organization is strategically divided into three main divisions: Operations, Content, and Corporate Functions, ensuring that each segment can focus on its area of expertise while working collaboratively.

The C+ Africa Leadership team consists of a diverse and experienced group of professionals dedicated to enhancing the viewing experience for audiences across the continent. The appointments include:

  • Hennie Visser, Director of Business Operations, Africa
  • Fahmeeda Cassim-Surtee, CEO of Advertising and Media Sales, Africa
  • Fabrice Faux, Director of Content, Sport, and General Entertainment for French-speaking Africa
  • Nomsa Philiso, Director of Content, General Entertainment for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa
  • Rendani Ramovha, Director of Content, Sport for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa
  • Clément Hellich-Praquin, General Secretary, Africa
  • Jean-Christophe Ramos, Director of Public Affairs for French-speaking Africa
  • Keabetswe Modimoeng, Director of Public Affairs for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa
  • Michel Sibony, Chief Value Officer, Africa
  • Karim Bouzid, Director of Integration, Africa
  • Hala Saab, Director of Brand and Communication, Africa
  • Sabelo Mawali, Chief Technology Officer, Africa
  • Tshepi Malatjie, Director of Human Resources, Africa

In addition, Steven Budlender and Timothy Jacobs will play significant roles within the group. Budlender will oversee legal matters for English-speaking African countries, while Jacobs will focus on integrating synergies within the Finance department.
