Borouge and ADNOC Logistics & Services Forge Long-Term Partnership

Borouge and ADNOC Logistics & Services (L&S) have embarked on an impressive strategic partnership that spans 15 years. This collaboration will see ADNOC L&S manage the transport logistics for approximately 70% of Borouge’s annual production, marking a significant step in enhancing the efficiency of Borouge’s supply chain.

Financial Implications and Growth Prospects

The newly established service agreement includes a guaranteed minimum financial value of $531 million (approximately AED 1.95 billion) for ADNOC L&S. This deal not only strengthens the financial foundation of ADNOC L&S but also supports Borouge in its upcoming growth initiatives. The two companies anticipate achieving operational cost savings exceeding $50 million and heightened efficiencies within the first five years of the partnership.

This agreement encompasses a wide range of logistical services, including port management, container handling, and feeder container ship services specifically for the Borouge Container Terminal located in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi.

Enhancing Product Transportation

ADNOC L&S plans to deploy at least two dedicated container feeder ships. These vessels will be instrumental in transporting Borouge’s products from Al Ruwais to key destinations including the deepwater ports of Jebel Ali in Dubai and Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi. This logistical enhancement will facilitate smoother and more efficient transport operations, crucial for meeting Borouge’s expanding production capabilities.

Borouge has ambitious plans to bolster its production capacity by an additional 1.4 million tonnes per annum by the end of 2026, driven by the Borouge 4 mega project. This initiative aims to solidify Borouge’s status as the world’s largest single-site polyolefin complex.

Strengthening Partnerships for Future Success

Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, CEO of Borouge, expressed optimism about the agreement. He noted that this partnership builds on their long-standing collaboration with ADNOC L&S. “This agreement allows us to better meet the evolving demands of our customers in high-growth markets,” he stated.

Al Suwaidi emphasized the significant advantages it brings to Borouge, such as operational cost savings and enhanced logistics flexibility. By complementing existing rail operations, the partnership will not only improve supply chain dynamics but also help Borouge adapt to the increasingly demanding global market.

Commitment to Innovation and Economic Growth

ADNOC L&S views this partnership as a crucial step toward its mission of delivering integrated supply chain solutions. This agreement aligns with the UAE’s broader vision for economic diversification and bolsters the nation’s global leadership in trade and industrial resilience.

Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L&S, highlighted the importance of this comprehensive agreement, referring to it as a key milestone in their collaboration with Borouge. He reiterated their commitment to providing seamless, end-to-end logistics solutions that promote the UAE’s industrial growth and export aspirations. By leveraging extensive maritime and logistics expertise, ADNOC L&S aims to ensure that Borouge’s high-quality petrochemical products reach markets around the globe efficiently and competitively.

Future Outlook

As the partnership progresses, both Borouge and ADNOC L&S are poised to drive substantial improvements in their operational capabilities, setting new benchmarks within the industry. The combined efforts of these two entities will likely foster innovation, efficiency, and robust growth within the supply chain sector, reflecting their dedication to meeting 21st-century market demands.
