Afreximbank TV, the digital channel owned and operated by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), recently celebrated its fifth edition by offering extensive coverage of the Intra-African Trade Fair 2025 (IATF2025), which took place in Algiers, Algeria. This platform is rapidly transforming how trade stories from Africa are told and consumed.

Growth and Engagement

Since its launch in November 2023, Afreximbank TV has seen remarkable engagement, amassing over 14.1 million views and accumulating an impressive 324,200 hours of watch time. The channel currently boasts around 500,000 subscribers, with an average monthly viewership of about 272,800. Its broadcasts have a significant global footprint, with top viewership figures coming from countries like Kenya, Algeria, Nigeria, Ghana, and Tanzania.

Diverse Content Offerings

Afreximbank TV’s inaugural edition focused on the IATF2023 held in Cairo, Egypt. Since that initial event, the channel has evolved into a source of diverse programming. It features in-depth interviews with influential thought leaders, offers short and long-form video content, and covers pivotal events that underscore Africa’s trade transformation. The content is available for free in both English and French, making it accessible to a wider audience.

Mrs. Anne Ezeh, Afreximbank’s Director of Communications & Events, emphasized the purpose behind Afreximbank TV. “We are leveraging the power of storytelling to amplify Afreximbank’s critical interventions and illuminate its development impact,” she stated. The goal is to lead the narrative on Africa’s trade transformation and encourage a more interconnected future for the continent.

Showcasing African Talent and Impact

Several videos on the channel have resonated deeply with audiences, each surpassing 1 million views. Notable content includes CANEX Music Factory: Championing African Talent, GDIZ: Weaving Bright Futures in Benin’s Textile Industry, Eva’s Coffee: ShowcaseHER Success, PAPSS: Connecting the Continent, and Oando: Empowering Female Leaders. Additionally, one of the most viewed podcasts, Afreximbank Annual Meetings 2025, has garnered over 1.2 million views and approximately 30,700 hours of watch time.

Coverage of IATF2025

During the IATF2025, which ran from September 4 to 10, the channel delivered live coverage of key sessions and hosted interviews with prominent figures such as H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chair of the IATF Advisory Council and former President of Nigeria, and H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the AfCFTA Secretariat. The event saw participation from over 112,000 attendees across 132 countries, marking a significant moment for intra-African trade dialogue.

The IATF2025 concluded successfully, with trade and investment deals reaching a remarkable total of US$48.3 billion during the week-long exposition, alongside the participation of 2,148 exhibitors.

The Role of IATF

Organized by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the AfCFTA Secretariat, the Intra-African Trade Fair is a platform designed to enhance trade and investment collaboration across Africa. Its purpose is to facilitate the exchange of information and insights that are crucial for boosting intra-African trade and investment, particularly in the context of advancing the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

The fair not only showcases African products and services but also invites global participation, opening doors for businesses and investors from outside the continent to explore opportunities that contribute to Africa’s industrialization and export development.
