Arada Announces Major Contract for Masaar Central in Sharjah

Arada has taken a significant step forward in its ambitious Masaar project by awarding the main construction contract for Masaar Central, the vibrant retail and lifestyle hub within this expansive development located in Sharjah. This initiative marks a pivotal expansion of the community’s facilities, reflecting Arada’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

Contract Details and Timeline

The contract, valued at AED 60 million, has been entrusted to Intermass, a local contractor with an established presence in the construction of several residential phases at Masaar. With construction set to wrap up by the end of 2026, this timeline aligns with the anticipated completion of the remaining three residential segments within the AED 9.5 billion community, situated in the Suyoh district.

Features of Masaar Central

Masaar Central is designed to be the heart of residents’ social and retail activities, spanning an impressive 53,000 square feet of gross leasable area. The hub will host a variety of services, including shopping, dining, wellness, and educational options. Key anchors will include a Carrefour supermarket, a Wellfit gym, and a Bright Star RGS nursery, all aimed at providing convenience and enhancing community engagement.

Vision for the Community

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, the Group CEO of Arada, expressed enthusiasm regarding the ongoing development, stating that Masaar Central is set to be a focal point for residents, offering a premium environment amidst the lush, forested landscape. With half of the Masaar project already completed and 1,500 homes handed over, he noted the significance of this contract in driving the overall master plan toward its completion goal for 2026.

Expansive Development Zone

The Masaar development sprawls over an impressive 19 million square feet, featuring 3,000 villas and townhouses distributed across six gated communities. One of the project’s standout features is a green spine that includes an astonishing 70,000 trees, ensuring a tranquil environment for residents and fostering a connection with nature.

As part of the ongoing community experience, Masaar currently houses the Masaar Discovery Center and several family attractions, including a children’s adventure playground, a water play zone, a skate park, and the Zad food truck park.

Educational Facilities and Future Developments

Excitingly, the project will also include Reigate Grammar School Masaar, a branch of a renowned UK-based educational institution, which is set to open its doors by 2027. This addition symbolizes Arada’s commitment to providing comprehensive services that cater to families within the community.

Additionally, the surrounding infrastructure boasts the Masaar Track, a beautifully designed 6.6-kilometre cycleway that integrates bridges and tunnels, making it a popular space for cycling enthusiasts. Onsite amenities include bike rental and repair services, as well as a café, further enhancing the outdoor experience for residents.

Strategic Location

Conveniently located in the Suyoh district, Masaar is positioned near significant landmarks such as Tilal City and the Sharjah Mosque, making it accessible for families and individuals alike. With easy access to Emirates Road and Mleiha Road, it is just a 15-minute drive from Sharjah International Airport and 20 minutes from Dubai International Airport.

Ongoing Expansion

In February 2025, Arada kicked off sales for Masaar 2, a new community comprising 2,000 homes located adjacent to the original Masaar. This new section demonstrated incredible demand, selling out in just three hours. Construction on Masaar 2 is set to commence before the year’s end, with the first homes expected to be ready by late 2027 and the entire community projected to be fully completed by 2028.

Masaar is not just a place to live; it’s evolving into a comprehensive lifestyle destination that promises to enrich the daily lives of its residents and make a lasting impact on the Sharjah landscape.
