ASUS Joins FIRST: Pioneering Cybersecurity Commitment and Collaboration

ASUS Joins Global Cybersecurity Alliance as Taiwan’s Sole Representative

TAIPEI, Taiwan — In a significant move to bolster its commitment to digital security, ASUS has officially announced its membership in the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), the preeminent cybersecurity incident response organization worldwide. This milestone not only marks ASUS as the only computer brand from Taiwan to join FIRST but also underscores the company’s leadership in the global information security landscape.

Robert Chin, ASUS Group Chief Information Security Officer, emphasized the company’s vision: “Building Digital Resilience, Enhancing Brand Trust; Striving for Excellence, Advancing Security Together.” With this vision in mind, ASUS aims to enhance cybersecurity resilience while promoting sustainable development practices. As a FIRST member, the company will collaborate with various stakeholders to foster a robust cybersecurity ecosystem, driving societal transformation.

“Joining FIRST allows us to establish close collaborations with top global cybersecurity experts,” said TJ Hsu, ASUS Computer Threat Analyst. He highlighted that the membership will enable ASUS to stay abreast of international and domestic security threats in real-time, positioning the company to share vital threat intelligence across its network. This proactive approach is designed to help businesses navigate cybersecurity challenges more effectively, minimizing the impact on industries and society.

FIRST, an international non-profit organization consisting of over 700 Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) from more than 100 countries, focuses on enhancing global cybersecurity resilience. Organizations aspiring to join must undergo rigorous evaluations, a process ASUS navigated successfully with recommendations from established members DTTW-CSIRT and TeamT5 CSIRT.

As cyber threats continue to evolve, ASUS’s entry into FIRST reinforces its dedication to securing its products and services, ensuring users and partners around the world can trust in their digital environments.
