The Return of BreachForums: A New Chapter or Just a Rehash?

After BreachForums went dark in April, several imitations tried to take its place, but none really caught on. Recently, however, the forum has resurfaced under its dark web address, reigniting interest and speculation among its users.

A Familiar Face with New Ownership

Upon revisiting the forum, users noticed that it looked quite familiar. Some of the moderators had names that rang a bell, but it was clear that the new founder/owner went by the enigmatic moniker “N/A.” This reshuffling has led to a mixed bag of responses from the community.

Clarifications Amidst Rumors

In an announcement to reintroduce the platform, N/A tackled some rumors swirling around the forum’s integrity. They vehemently stated that previous claims regarding arrests of BreachForums administrators were unfounded. Importantly, they maintained that neither the infrastructure nor the data had been compromised, assuring users that it was “business as usual.”

However, this claim has already raised eyebrows. Notably, ShinyHunters, a known figure in this space and previous owner of the forum, was indeed arrested in France alongside other members of the ShinyHunters group back on June 23, 2025. This discrepancy makes N/A’s assertion questionable, raising concerns about the transparency of the new administration.

IntelBroker: The Scapegoat or a Pawn?

N/A also emphasized that IntelBroker was not the true owner of BreachForums, claiming that his title had been strategically assigned to divert attention. This statement aligns with some previously unofficial insights that IntelBroker, whose real name is Kai Logan West, had stepped down from his role and lacked any real administrative privileges. However, IntelBroker’s name recently appeared in questionable circumstances, suggesting that it was being exploited as a diversionary tactic.

Back in May, members reportedly misused IntelBroker’s identification during attempts to extort clients from PowerSchool, leaving many uncertain about the true motives behind these actions.

The Status of BreachForums

Much of the confusion surrounding BreachForums could stem from its current status. According to N/A, the site was not officially seized; instead, its domain registration was temporarily suspended as requested by law enforcement. DataBreaches corroborated this, having access to relevant communications from the domain registrar.

For users returning to the forum, there’s a silver lining: the revived site seems to have preserved its original database, reputation points, and user-generated content. Testing the login functionality showed that previous credentials were still valid, suggesting a seamless transition to the new ownership.

The Shadowy Figure of N/A

Despite the reassuring tones from N/A, questions persist regarding their identity and qualifications. How did this individual take the reins of such a notorious platform? There are theories ranging from Shiny selling the platform to internal administration turnover, but when pressed for specifics, N/A remained tight-lipped, replying with “No comment” to inquiries.

Compounding this mystery, ShinyHunters still appears listed as an administrator on the current staff page of the forum. This situation raises critical questions about whether Shiny was aware of this designation or if they even consented to it in light of their ongoing legal troubles.

Legal Troubles and Admin Rights

ShinyHunters’ attorney confirmed to DataBreaches that their client remains in detention, rendering them unavailable to manage the forum. This revelation complicates the narrative further: if Shiny is indeed still jailed, how can they be listed as an administrator? The lack of clarity surrounding their status only adds to the uncertainty of BreachForums’ future.

What’s Next for BreachForums?

As the dust settles, the community watches closely for further developments. With the return of BreachForums under new management, the backdrop of legal issues looms large. Users will undoubtedly be eager for transparency and reassurance in navigating this latest chapter of the forum’s tumultuous history.

Each twist and turn raises more questions, and as further information comes to light, it could reshape the landscape of BreachForums in ways we can’t yet anticipate.
