UAE Cybersecurity Council Plans Three New Policies by End of 2024
The UAE Cybersecurity Council is gearing up to introduce three new policies by the end of 2024, aimed at bolstering the country’s cybersecurity framework and solidifying its position as a global leader in advanced technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Dr Mohammed Hamad Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, revealed that the upcoming policies will focus on critical areas such as cloud computing and data security, Internet of Things security, and cybersecurity operations centers. Additionally, executive regulations for the encryption law, which establishes essential standards for securing data transmission compatible with quantum systems, are expected to be rolled out before the end of 2024.
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Dr Al-Kuwaiti emphasized the UAE’s potential as a global data hub and highlighted the country’s dedication to implementing robust laws and policies to regulate this vital sector. He stressed the importance of forming partnerships with both regional and international entities across the public and private sectors.
