How to Enable Cookies in Different Browsers

Using the Facebook App: Avoiding In-App Browser Issues

Users often encounter glitches with the Facebook in-app browser, especially when it comes to managing cookies. This browser sometimes fails to maintain cookies that were previously set, leading to a subpar browsing experience. To sidestep this issue, the easiest method is to switch to your device’s default browser instead of using the in-app one. Follow these straightforward steps:

  1. Open the settings menu by tapping the hamburger icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select “App Settings” from the options presented.
  3. Toggle the option “Links Open Externally” to enable the device’s default browser.

If you’re a Firefox user, enabling cookies is simple:

  3. Navigate to the Privacy section and choose “Use custom settings for history.”
  4. Ensure “Accept cookies from sites” and “Accept third-party cookies” are checked.
  5. Set the option for “Keep until” to “they expire.”
  6. Click OK to finalize your settings.

Setting Up Cookies in Google Chrome

For those using Google Chrome, follow these steps to enable cookies:

  1. Open the Google Chrome browser.
  2. Access the Tools menu and click on Options.
  3. Select Privacy Options, then go to Under the Hood and Content Settings.
  4. Check “Allow local data to be set.”
  5. Uncheck the option to block third-party cookies.
  6. Make sure “Clear cookies” is also unchecked.
  7. Close all settings windows to apply the changes.

Enabling Cookies in Mobile Safari (iPhone and iPad)

For iOS users, here’s how to set up cookies in Mobile Safari:

  2. Tap the Settings icon to open the settings menu.
  3. Select Safari from the available options.
  4. Find the option labeled ‘Accept Cookies’ and select it.
