Embracing AI: Gigamon’s Vision for Hybrid Cloud Security
As the digital landscape rapidly evolves, organizations are increasingly recognizing the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) within their operations. Gigamon, a leader in network visibility and security solutions, has unveiled the first phase of its ambitious AI strategy aimed at enhancing security and management of hybrid cloud infrastructures. With advanced offerings such as Gigamon AI Traffic Intelligence and GigaVUE Fabric Manager (FM) Copilot, the company is poised to address the complexities and challenges presented by modern hybrid environments.
Mapping the AI Landscape
In recent years, regions like the Middle East and Africa have seen a surge in AI adoption, driven by the ongoing digital transformation efforts across various sectors. However, as organizations embrace AI technologies, they face mounting challenges— particularly in managing the visibility of all data in motion. A striking revelation from a recent survey in the UAE indicated that one in three organizations lack confidence in their ability to detect unauthorized use of AI. Similarly, nearly 40 percent of companies in Saudi Arabia expressed uncertainty about their visibility into AI applications.
To tackle these pressing issues, Gigamon’s Deep Observability Pipeline offers a comprehensive solution: it provides organizations with enhanced visibility into AI traffic, including both lateral and encrypted data streams. “Organizations across the region are adopting AI at an unprecedented pace, but this comes with a critical need for deep observability to secure hybrid cloud infrastructures,” explains Damian Wilk, Gigamon’s General Manager for EMEA Emerging Markets. His insights underscore the alignment of these technological advancements with national cybersecurity strategies across the Middle East and Africa.
Unveiling New Capabilities
As the landscape of AI workloads expands, organizations are grappling with escalating data volumes and the growing complexity of security risks. The findings from the 2025 Hybrid Cloud Security Survey reveal that network traffic has more than doubled for one in three surveyed leaders due to AI workloads, while a significant majority are finding their current tools inadequate for detecting modern threats. Recognizing this critical need, 88 percent of security and IT leaders now view deep observability as essential for safeguarding their AI deployments.
Michael Dickman, Chief Product Officer at Gigamon, emphasizes the dual responsibility of merging AI with security. “We are committed to ensuring that our customers possess complete visibility into AI traffic and workloads, including any shadow AI activity. Our embedded AI capabilities help organizations fortify their cybersecurity seamlessly,” he asserts. By prioritizing visibility, Gigamon enables firms to secure their environments as they scale their AI initiatives.
Innovations in AI Traffic Intelligence
One of the cornerstone innovations introduced by Gigamon is its AI Traffic Intelligence capability. This feature allows organizations to gain real-time visibility into Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Model (LLM) activities from top platforms, including ChatGPT and Gemini. With the ability to including user-defined targeting for additional LLMs, this intelligence solution applies even to encrypted data in transit. As a result, organizations can identify unchecked AI usage, monitor trends, and ensure adhere to governance policies.
This capability not only enriches the security posture of organizations but also empowers IT teams with the actionable data they need for informed decision-making. Industry analyst Bob Laliberte of theCUBE Research recognizes Gigamon’s leading position in this space. “As AI complexities continue to rise, the necessity for clear visibility into GenAI activity is paramount,” Laliberte notes. “Gigamon is strategically equipped to provide the insights necessary to monitor AI usage effectively.”
Simplifying Operations with GigaVUE-FM Copilot
Alongside AI Traffic Intelligence, Gigamon has launched GigaVUE-FM Copilot, an innovative GenAI-powered assistant designed to streamline the onboarding, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Gigamon environments. By leveraging a natural language interface, Copilot simplifies complex workflows and significantly reduces the time required for IT teams to achieve insights.
This empowering tool securely connects users to an internal knowledge base and utilizes LLM-derived information from technical documents and deployment guides. By alleviating the reliance on Tier 3 support, GigaVUE-FM Copilot enhances productivity and helps teams resolve issues autonomously.
Looking Ahead
Currently, the AI Traffic Intelligence capability is available for all GigaVUE Cloud Suite customers, while GigaVUE-FM Copilot is in early access for select users, with a broader rollout expected in the latter half of 2025. This significant advancement marks just the beginning of Gigamon’s multi-phase strategy, with additional AI-powered innovations on the horizon.
As the tech landscape continues to evolve, Gigamon is set to unveil more developments at the upcoming Gigamon Visualyze Bootcamp, a virtual conference scheduled for September 9–11. This initiative highlights the organization’s commitment to addressing the ever-shifting needs of the industry, ensuring that businesses can effectively navigate the complexities of a heavily AI-driven world.
