Bomb Threats Cause Panic in Delhi Schools Amid Ongoing Exams

Panic Grips Delhi Schools Amid Bomb Threats

NEW DELHI: A wave of panic swept through several schools in Delhi on Wednesday morning as bomb threats were sent via email to over ten institutions, coinciding with ongoing examinations. The alarming messages, received around 10:48 AM, warned of explosives planted on school premises, designed to detonate at the most impactful moment.

Among the schools targeted were DPS Vasant Vihar, Amity School in Saket, and Salwan Public School. The email, originating from a Gmail account, claimed that a "powerful and dangerous dark web group" was behind the threats, alleging connections to notorious "Red Rooms." The sender exploited the examination schedules, stating that large crowds would be vulnerable during the transition from outdoor activities to exam halls.

The email read, "Your lack of strict bag checks for students has provided us with the perfect opportunity to carry out our plan." It ominously warned that the bombs were "powerful enough to destroy entire buildings" and that invigilators would be caught off guard.

In response, police have launched an immediate investigation, although similar threats last year turned out to be hoaxes affecting over 200 schools. Parents were thrown into chaos as schools issued urgent messages for immediate pick-ups. One parent recounted, "I was engrossed in work when I received the alert. We had to act quickly to ensure both of my children were safe."

Authorities are working diligently to trace the source of the email and reassure the community. As the investigation unfolds, schools are ramping up security measures to prevent any potential threats and ensure the safety of students and staff.
