Dynatrace Achieves Certification for Cost & Carbon Optimization App from Sustainable Digital Infrastructure Alliance

Dynatrace’s Cost & Carbon Optimization App Earns Prestigious Certification from SDIA

In a significant step towards promoting sustainability in the tech industry, Dynatrace has announced that its Cost & Carbon Optimization app has received certification from the Sustainable Digital Infrastructure Alliance (SDIA). This certification underscores the app’s accuracy and transparency in calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across major cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and on-premises host instances.

The Dynatrace app provides organizations with real-time insights into their hybrid and multicloud ecosystems, detailing both costs and carbon footprints. With over 25% of hosts monitored by Dynatrace OneAgent now reporting their carbon emissions, the demand for IT carbon emissions awareness and reduction is clearly on the rise.

Max Schulze, CEO of SDIA, praised the app, stating, “SDIA concludes that the Dynatrace Cost and Carbon Optimization app is a reliable estimation system for calculating the operational GHG emissions of IT infrastructure.” He emphasized that the app’s methodology aligns with the best scientific practices, ensuring transparency and enabling customers to verify results independently.

Angelo Kaijser, Managing Director of Conclusion Xforce, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the app’s importance for clients navigating evolving sustainability reporting requirements. “The certification by SDIA validates Dynatrace’s integration of IT carbon analytics into its observability platform,” he noted.

Steve Tack, Chief Product Officer at Dynatrace, added, “Understanding and minimizing environmental impact is critical for organizations today.” He emphasized that the certification reflects Dynatrace’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and assisting global enterprises in achieving their sustainability goals.

As businesses increasingly prioritize sustainability, Dynatrace’s certified app stands out as a vital tool for organizations aiming to balance operational efficiency with environmental responsibility.
