Ex-employee of NCS Group sentenced to prison for hacking company’s data

Former NCS Group Employee Jailed for Hacking Company’s Data

In a shocking turn of events, a former employee of the IT giant NCS Group has been sentenced to two years and eight months in jail for hacking into the company’s systems and deleting crucial data. The perpetrator, 39-year-old Kandula Nagaraju, was let go from his position in the company’s quality assurance team due to poor performance.

Despite feeling that his performance was adequate, Nagaraju was unable to find another job and was forced to return to India. It was during this time that he decided to seek revenge on his former employer by accessing the company’s systems from his home country and eventually from Singapore, where he had secured a new job.

Nagaraju successfully deleted 180 virtual servers, causing $678,000 in damages to the multinational IT company. However, his actions did not go unnoticed, as the company quickly identified the unauthorized access to its systems and traced it back to the ex-employee.

The ordeal has backfired on Nagaraju, who now faces a lengthy prison sentence for his actions. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of cybercrime and the importance of safeguarding sensitive data from malicious actors. The NCS Group has since taken steps to enhance its cybersecurity measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
