GITEX Expands Global Presence: New Editions in India and Brazil

GITEX, the UAE’s premier technology event focused on innovation and artificial intelligence, is set to broaden its global outreach with exciting new editions in India and Brazil. This expansion will connect some of the fastest-growing digital economies, placing the UAE firmly at the center of global technological innovation.

Announcements Made at GITEX Global 2025

During the recent GITEX Global 2025 held in Dubai, organizers from the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International unveiled plans for the inaugural events: GITEX Ai India and GITEX LATAM, both scheduled for 2027. This marks a significant step in the UAE’s ambition to become a hub for international tech advancements, linking emergent tech ecosystems across Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

GITEX LATAM: Launching in São Paulo, Brazil

The first edition of GITEX LATAM will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, on March 16-17, 2027, at the Distrito Anhembi. This event is being organized in collaboration with the São Paulo Development Agency (ADESAM). The timing of this launch is particularly noteworthy as it aligns with Brazil’s role as a Country Partner at this year’s GITEX Global, where over 50 startups and innovation hubs, led by ApexBrasil, are participating.

Officials regard this event as a vital gateway for the digital transformation of Latin America. It aims to gather startups, investors, and established businesses from key sectors, including:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Agritech
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Centers
  • Healthtech
  • Renewable Energy

São Paulo’s mayor, Ricardo Nunes, noted that hosting GITEX LATAM will facilitate connections among promising startups, unicorns, and influential companies globally, providing avenues to unlock capital and forge strategic partnerships on an international level. Over the past decade, São Paulo has attracted approximately $33.5 billion in venture capital and has become a breeding ground for innovation, producing 11 unicorns.

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International, emphasized that GITEX LATAM would merge Latin American markets with the broader digital ecosystem, enhancing access to capital, knowledge, technology, and talent.

GITEX Ai India: Set to Launch in Bengaluru, Karnataka

GITEX Ai India is slated to make its debut in April 2027 in Bengaluru, organized by the Government of Karnataka’s Department of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology (K-TECH) along with Startup Karnataka. The Indian technology sector is projected to reach $350 billion by 2026, contributing significantly to the nation’s GDP. The launch of GITEX Ai India aims to bolster innovation and investments across borders.

Dr. Manjula N, Secretary of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology in Karnataka, expressed that welcoming GITEX to the region represents a critical milestone for connecting India’s burgeoning innovation ecosystem with global partners, thereby attracting transformative investments. Areas of focus will include artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum computing, fintech, agritech, and advanced manufacturing, all aligning with India’s Vision 2047, which anticipates a $40 trillion digital economy by the time the country celebrates its centenary.

Trixie LohMirmand stated that this new India edition encapsulates the ambition of a rapidly evolving digital landscape, highlighting how both GITEX and India share a vision of innovation and boundless potential.

Strengthening Ties Between UAE and India

The launch of GITEX Ai India not only signifies a commitment to innovation but also strengthens economic ties between the UAE and India. Recent reports show that bilateral non-oil trade reached $38 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 34%. This surge is largely attributed to cooperative agreements in digital services, artificial intelligence, and green energy facilitated by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

The Expansive GITEX Network

With the additions of Brazil and India, GITEX now spans 14 countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Germany, Türkiye, Singapore, Nigeria, and Vietnam, solidifying its status as the largest interconnected network of tech and AI events globally. This expanding network aspires to link emerging markets with established innovation centers, offering governments, enterprises, and startups unprecedented access to capital, knowledge, and cross-border collaboration opportunities.
