WAM Morocco: A New Dawn for Industrial Innovation

The World Advanced Manufacturing and Future Mobility Exhibition (WAM Morocco) is set to make history by bringing together some of the world’s leading industrial companies for their inaugural attendance at a manufacturing exhibition in Morocco. Scheduled to occur from January 20 to 22 at the Foire Internationale de Casablanca, this event highlights Morocco’s rise as a pivotal hub for Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing in Africa.

Showcasing Global Leaders in Manufacturing

This year’s exhibition is notable for hosting top-tier companies such as SAP, Sumitomo Corporation, ENGIE, Vigel, and Zoho Corporation, marking their first foray into the Moroccan manufacturing landscape. Over 100 companies from 18 different countries, including the United States, Portugal, and Italy, will participate, illustrating the event’s broad international appeal.

The convergence of tech giants and innovative manufacturers, including Schneider Electric, Teledyne, and OCP Circular Technologies, sets the stage for extensive collaboration and investment opportunities throughout Africa’s industrial sector.

The Vision Behind WAM Morocco

Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, conveyed the significance of this event, stating, “The calibre of companies choosing WAM Morocco for their first manufacturing exhibition in the region demonstrates the extraordinary momentum building around Morocco’s industrial transformation.” According to her, this exhibition serves as a critical junction for global innovation and regional ambition, creating pathways for collaborative ventures that could shape the future of Africa’s industries.

Adding to this sentiment, a representative from UM6P, a prominent Moroccan university, emphasized that their presence at WAM Morocco reflects a strong belief in the country’s potential to pioneer advanced industrial ecosystems, enabling innovation and technology development.

Support from Local Industry Leaders

The significance of WAM Morocco is strongly supported by influential industrial figures and institutions in Morocco, including MSC Pro, CDD, and CE3M, among others. This robust backing positions the event not just as a private endeavor but as a government-endorsed initiative aimed at accelerating national industrial growth. The involvement of sovereign financial institutions and industry federations solidifies its status as a driving force for Morocco’s economic future.

Creating Opportunities for Startups

Breaking new ground, WAM Morocco will feature the region’s first international startup pavilion, backed by Invest India. This initiative aims to connect African industrial challenges with global startup solutions. The Supernova Challenge, evident in this framework, is Africa’s premier manufacturing-focused startup competition, offering a $10,000 cash prize and showcasing over 40 innovative startups competing in critical areas like advanced robotics and industrial automation.

The top ten startups will have the chance to present their groundbreaking ideas to investors and industry leaders, potentially securing funding and partnerships to bolster their market entry within Africa and internationally.

A Focus on Data-Driven Strategies

Jaafar Elalamy, CEO of Seiki, emphasized the importance of mobility data in developing smarter, more sustainable urban areas. He noted that with events like WAM Morocco, the integration of mobility data into urban planning is becoming increasingly urgent, especially as Morocco gears up for significant future events, including the 2030 World Cup.

Connecting Markets Across Africa

Additionally, WAM Morocco has established a partnership with FEWACCI (Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce & Industry), facilitating connections between Morocco’s industries and West Africa’s burgeoning markets. This collaboration aims to unlock exciting prospects for trade, investment, and the deployment of innovative technologies across the region.

An Enriching Experience for All Participants

Organized by KAOUN International in collaboration with various regional and international stakeholders, WAM Morocco is expected to bring together leaders from both the public and private sectors to drive meaningful transformation in Industry 4.0, enhancing cross-border collaboration.

The Future of Manufacturing Awaits

Taking place in Casablanca from January 20 to 22, WAM Morocco invites industry leaders, innovators, and investors to engage in what promises to be a defining platform for advanced manufacturing in Africa. For further details about the event, visit www.WAMMorocco.com.
