Global Youth Multicultural Forum in Singapore and Malaysia Celebrates Cultural Exchange
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – From December 19 to 23, 2025, the “Diverse Civilizations, Shared Community” Global Youth Multicultural Forum took place, focusing on cultural exchange between Asia, notably Singapore and Malaysia. This significant event was co-hosted by the International Culture Association of the Xizang Autonomous Region and the Center for International Cultural Communication (CICG).
Themes of the Forum
The forum delivered a rich program that revolved around two main themes. In Singapore, the focus was on “Hearing the Yarlung Zangbo Through the Voice of Youth,” while the Malaysian session explored “Cultures as The Way: Youth Mission in Heritage Preservation.” Both sessions featured keynote speeches and engaging round-table discussions designed to foster dialogue among participants.
Expert Insights
Throughout the forum, 15 leading experts and scholars from various fields shared their knowledge and expertise. Their presentations were structured around four primary dimensions: the integration of culture and tourism, strategies for cultural communication, the ecological impact of cultural practices, and avenues for international exchanges. This multi-faceted approach provided participants with practical insights into enhancing cross-cultural interactions.
Cultural Showcases
In addition to discussions, the event showcased rich cultural performances from Xizang, giving attendees a taste of the region’s artistic heritage. Participants were treated to an exhibition that highlighted the development and progress of Xizang through compelling photography. These visual narratives allowed for a deeper appreciation of the region’s culture and advancements over the years.
Engaging the Public with Flash Mobs
One of the standout features of the event was the Xizang Song and Dance Troupe’s flash mob performances held in urban settings across both Singapore and Malaysia. The troupe infused local urban styles with traditional Xizang music and dance under the unifying theme of “Diverse Civilizations, Shared Community.” These lively performances created an engaging atmosphere that drew the attention of both locals and tourists, encouraging them to capture and share their experiences.
The Impact of Cultural Exchanges
The striking performances not only showcased the artistic richness of Xizang but also underscored the strong bond between China and Malaysia. By integrating traditional cultural expressions within modern cityscapes, the event served as a vivid reminder that civilizations grow richer through interactivity and mutual understanding.
Through these dynamic exchanges, participants were invited to explore the unique charm of Xizang, often referred to as the “roof of the world,” establishing a platform for deeper cultural appreciation and connection among diverse communities.
In summary, the forum provided a robust space for youth to engage with cultural heritage, fostering a sense of community among participants from different backgrounds and underscoring the importance of shared experiences in a rapidly globalizing world.
