Walid Yehia, the General Manager for the Gulf region at Dell Technologies, is leading the charge in driving innovation and technological advancement in the UAE and beyond. With 18 years of experience at Dell, Yehia has a strong technical background that has enabled him to spearhead the company’s comprehensive AI strategy.

At GITEX 2024, Yehia unveiled Dell Technologies’ approach to AI, which includes the concept of the “AI Factory” – an ecosystem designed to accelerate customers’ AI journeys. He emphasized the importance of AI in everything, from internal use to providing AI technology for customers.

Discussing the recent Dell Innovation Catalyst report, Yehia highlighted the progressive mindset of UAE businesses, noting a blend of confidence and uncertainty in their approach to innovation. He also identified four critical factors for AI adoption in the UAE: strategy, skill sets, financial capability, and a culture of innovation.

Looking ahead to 2025, Yehia identified cybersecurity, multi-cloud environments, and digital workplace technologies as key trends. He emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in the face of evolving technologies and highlighted the role of multi-cloud solutions in enabling digital transformation.

Yehia reaffirmed Dell Technologies’ commitment to the region, stating that the company is building capabilities in cybersecurity, AI, and multi-cloud to address market demand. Their efforts have been successful, as indicated by industry shares published by IDC.
