A 4.8-magnitude earthquake shook parts of the East Coast of the US on Friday, catching many residents off guard. While some were safe in their homes, others found themselves in unexpected situations during the tremor.

One such individual was Justin Allen, a stay-at-home father from Pennsylvania, who was in the middle of a vasectomy procedure when the earthquake struck. As he lay on the examination bed, with the doctor performing the delicate operation, the entire building began to shake.

In an interview with WIRED, Allen described the surreal experience of feeling the ground move beneath him while undergoing the procedure. The doctor paused momentarily, waiting for the quake to pass, before continuing with the operation.

Despite the unusual circumstances, Allen and the medical staff found humor in the situation, joking about the bizarre timing of the earthquake during a routine medical procedure. Allen remarked that he now has a unique story to tell for the rest of his life, combining the memorable moment of his vasectomy with the unexpected earthquake on the East Coast.

The earthquake served as a reminder that natural disasters can strike at any time, even in regions not typically known for seismic activity. While the experience was certainly a surprise for Allen and the medical team, they were able to find levity in the situation and carry on with the procedure once the tremors subsided.
