Jahez Launches Kuwait’s First Food Innovation Hackathon
A New Era of Youth Empowerment in Kuwait
In an exciting development for Kuwait’s entrepreneurial landscape, Jahez Application has proudly introduced the inaugural Food Innovation Hackathon in collaboration with the Kuwait Innovation Center (KIC). This initiative is not just a competition; it represents a pivotal moment for young innovators in Kuwait, championing creativity and aligning closely with the ambitions set forth by Kuwait Vision 2035.
Program Structure and Objectives
The launch of this national-level hackathon follows a formal agreement—specifically, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on June 25, 2025—between Jahez and KIC. This collaboration has established a comprehensive 7-phase program, carefully designed to guide participants from the initial ideation stages all the way through to execution.
Open to students, developers, and forward-thinking individuals, the program encourages participants to leverage AI and digital solutions to tackle pressing challenges in the food delivery industry. This opportunity aims to stimulate innovative thinking that addresses the real-world complexities faced by the sector.
Key Dates and Bootcamp Details
Registration for the hackathon opens on July 13, with applications evaluated on a rolling basis. Selected candidates will be revealed during a formal confirmation stage, followed by an intensive 3-day bootcamp set for August 6-8 at the Kuwait Innovation Center. This bootcamp will serve as a vital training ground for participants, featuring workshops that cover essential topics like AI applications, Figma interface design, and effective business modeling strategies.
Additionally, attendees will gain practical insights into the operational technologies utilized by Jahez Application, ensuring their projects are relevant to the needs of the industry.
High-Stakes Pitching and Awards Ceremony
The hackathon culminates in an exciting live pitching event scheduled for August 16 at Andalus Hall. Finalists will present their prototypes and business plans to a panel of expert judges. To reward outstanding innovation, three cash prizes will be awarded:
- KWD 3,000 for the first-place winner
- KWD 2,000 for the second-place team
- KWD 1,000 for the third-place finishers
Beyond immediate rewards, promising ideas will receive incubation support, mentorship opportunities, and the potential for implementation alongside Jahez Application, ensuring sustained impact and growth for innovative solutions.
Commitment to Innovation and Community
Abdulrahman Reda, Marketing Team Lead at Jahez Application, emphasized the hackathon’s role as a platform to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of Kuwait’s youth. He stated, “This hackathon is a celebration of youth, innovation, and the spirit of entrepreneurship in Kuwait. Together with KIC, we are proud to create a platform where aspiring minds can reimagine the future of food delivery and develop solutions that can truly make a difference.”
Reda further expressed Jahez’s dedication to fostering young talent through real opportunities, insisting that this initiative is geared toward driving productive change while building substantial value for the food delivery sector.
Outreach and Engagement Strategy
To draw in a diverse array of participants, Jahez Application and KIC have initiated an inclusive promotional campaign. This campaign involves public relations outreach and active engagement with local communities and creative networks, aiming to attract innovative thinkers across the spectrum.
The hackathon promises to be both a launchpad for groundbreaking solutions and a rich learning experience. It fosters collaboration, mentorship, and problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment.
