Khalifa Fund Strengthens Support for National Entrepreneurs at ‘Make it in the Emirates’ 2026

The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) is set to play a pivotal role at the upcoming ‘Make it in the Emirates’ 2026 event, scheduled to take place from May 4 to 7, 2026, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The event, themed ‘Emerging Stronger’, underscores KFED’s commitment to enhancing the entrepreneurship ecosystem and empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the UAE.

Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives

During the event, KFED will unveil a series of strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at bolstering its entrepreneurship program. These agreements are designed to enhance the tools and resources available to national enterprises, thereby increasing their competitiveness both locally and globally. The strategic partnerships will focus on various sectors, including logistics, utilities, and education, reflecting a comprehensive approach to fostering innovation and growth.

The Fund will showcase the success of seven Emirati SMEs that span diverse industries such as agricultural technology, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and food and beverage processing. This diversity illustrates the robust potential of the UAE’s industrial base and highlights the importance of supporting local enterprises in navigating the competitive landscape.

Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Tailored Programs

KFED’s participation at the event will also feature its integrated entrepreneur empowerment journey. Visitors to the KFED pavilion will have the opportunity to engage with various programs designed to support entrepreneurs at different stages of their business development. The Fund’s “We Listen” service offers personalized advisory sessions tailored to the specific needs of entrepreneurs and SMEs, ensuring that they receive targeted guidance.

Additionally, the “Funding on the Spot” initiative allows entrepreneurs to apply for funding directly during the event. This program includes instant eligibility assessments and preliminary approvals for qualifying projects, streamlining the funding process and facilitating immediate access to financial support.

Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Her Excellency Mouza Obaid Al Nasri, CEO of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, emphasized the importance of KFED’s role in advancing the entrepreneurship ecosystem. She stated that the Fund aims to create an integrated empowerment ecosystem that connects funding with talent, specialized skills, and market access. This holistic approach is crucial for developing resilient entrepreneurship capabilities that can adapt to both local and global market demands.

The focus on partnerships with public and private sectors, as well as academic institutions, is intended to unlock the full potential of SMEs. By fostering collaboration, KFED aims to provide meaningful support that transforms local businesses into competitive entities capable of contributing significantly to the UAE’s industrial economy.

Showcasing Innovative Programs

One of the key highlights at KFED’s stand will be the ‘Light Manufacturing Accelerator’ program. This initiative is designed to transform innovative ideas into commercially viable products through a comprehensive support framework that includes funding, technical enablement, and connections to supply chains and industrial partners. Such programs are essential for nurturing innovation and ensuring that new products can successfully enter the market.

Strengthening the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the entrepreneurship landscape, KFED will sign five strategic MoUs during the event. These agreements include collaborations with Etihad Airways to facilitate access to the Group’s transport and logistics ecosystem, and with TAQA Distribution to explore opportunities within the utilities and energy sector. Additionally, partnerships with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and Rotana Hotel Management Corporation aim to leverage academic resources and encourage procurement from local suppliers, respectively.

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) will also collaborate with KFED to support innovation and entrepreneurship, further solidifying the institutional framework necessary for sustainable business growth.

Event Details and Visitor Engagement

‘Make it in the Emirates’ 2026 will welcome visitors daily from 10 AM to 6 PM. KFED invites attendees to explore its pavilion located at Hall 13, Stand ES18. This engagement offers a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the Fund’s programs, connect directly with its team, and discover avenues for business growth and expansion.
