In a groundbreaking move to bolster the cyber security defenses of India’s power grid, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK), and the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU outlines the establishment of an Operations Technology (OT) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Cyber Security Lab at NPTI, with the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) as a key initial step. This state-of-the-art lab will play a crucial role in enhancing the cyber security preparedness of power system operators in India.
