In the last three days alone, nine schools in Delhi have reported receiving ten bomb threat emails. This trend mirrors previous events; just last February, a private school and a college affiliated with Delhi University were targeted, which authorities later confirmed as hoaxes. Previous threats have escalated into real danger, as witnessed by an explosion outside a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Prashant Vihar last October. Cybersecurity experts stress the difficulty in tracing these emails, noting that many are routed through multiple proxy servers and VPN chains that bounce their location across various countries. This increasingly sophisticated approach leaves law enforcement agencies with limited options when it comes to identifying and apprehending the perpetrators.

Psychological Impact on the Community

The emotional toll of these bomb threats cannot be overstated. As parents grapple with the unsettling reality of their children’s safety, many express significant concern. Rakesh Arora, whose 12-year-old attends St. Thomas School in Dwarka—one of the institutions that received two threats in quick succession—voiced his worries about the psychological impact on students, remarking that "it not only creates fear but also disrupts the children’s studies."
