## President El-Sisi Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi convened a meeting with several key figures, including Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir—Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport—and Lieutenant General Ahmed El-Shazly, the Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs. The focus of their discussions was primarily centered on advancing Egypt’s infrastructure, particularly projects associated with the Ministry of Transport and Industry.
### Railway Development Initiatives
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the Spokesman for the Presidency, reported that the President received an update on various rail projects. Among the highlights was the status of the Al-Arish to Taba railway line, along with the completion of the Bir El-Abd to Al-Arish railway line. These projects are expected to make a significant impact on the development of the Sinai Peninsula. Moreover, they are integral to establishing a logistical corridor that links the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, enhancing trade routes and promoting connectivity.
### Progress on Seaport Developments
The meeting also touched on the progress of seaport enhancements, which are crucial to Egypt’s national development strategy. Multiple key ports were reviewed, including Ras Sedr Port, Gargoub Port, and Abu Qir Port. The Grand Port of Alexandria and the new El-Max Port are part of ongoing efforts, along with developments at Sokhna Port and Taba Seaport. Continuous improvements at Damietta Port were also mentioned, emphasizing the government’s commitment to modernize and expand port facilities to support growing trade demands.
### Metro and High-Speed Electric Train Projects
In addition to maritime developments, President El-Sisi discussed progress on the construction of Cairo’s fourth metro line. The high-speed electric train project was also on the agenda, showcasing Egypt’s ambition to enhance urban and intercity transit options. Improving public transportation not only facilitates easier movement but also supports the overarching goal of urban development.
### Industrial Zone Enhancements
Further discussions included initiatives aimed at developing industrial zones, particularly in Wadi Al-Saririya and Al-Motahhara in Minya Governorate, as well as northern Fayoum in Fayoum Governorate. These projects are crafted to boost industrial growth in Upper Egypt, aiming to generate employment opportunities in sectors like textiles and ready-made garments.
### Timely Execution of Projects
During the meeting, President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of adhering to project timelines. He directed that efforts to expedite the completion of integrated developmental logistical corridors should continue, which would connect production areas to evolving seaports. The objective is to elevate these ports into high-capacity hubs worthy of global trade standards. Integrating this modernization with Egypt’s transport network—including roads, highways, and railways—remains a priority for placing Egypt on the map as a leading trade and logistics center.
