Proofpoint Partners with CyberGate Defense to Enhance Cybersecurity in the UAE

Dubai, UAE – In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity in the region, Proofpoint, a leader in cybersecurity solutions, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CyberGate Defense, a renowned organization specializing in end-to-end cybersecurity and digital solutions. The agreement was formalized during Proofpoint’s Protect Tour event in Dubai, with His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cyber Security Council, overseeing the event.

Data reveals a pressing concern for organizations in the UAE, where human error is perceived as the number one cyber risk. A recent study by Proofpoint indicates that 76% of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) believe that their organizations’ vulnerabilities stem primarily from human factors. This insight underscores the urgent need for a more human-centric approach to cybersecurity.

Through this collaboration, CyberGate will integrate Proofpoint’s advanced cybersecurity solutions, specifically designed to address human-related threats. The partnership aims to educate users, fortify information protection, and effectively combat cyber threats that predominantly target individuals rather than infrastructure. Moreover, Proofpoint’s acclaimed ZenGuide training platform will be incorporated into CyberGate Academy’s curriculum, enhancing the cybersecurity education offered to organizations in the UAE and beyond.

Emile Abou Saleh, Vice President at Proofpoint, emphasized the initiative’s goal: “Our focus on protecting public sector entities in the UAE with AI-powered, human-centric solutions will elevate the standard of cybersecurity awareness across the region.”

CyberGate’s Chief Business Officer, Cherif Morcos, highlighted the necessity of collective efforts in bolstering regional cybersecurity resilience. He stated, “Partnering with Proofpoint empowers organizations to strengthen their defenses, sharing essential knowledge to navigate the evolving cyber threat landscape.”

This collaborative effort marks Proofpoint’s dedicated investment in the Middle East, reinforcing its commitment to delivering top-tier cybersecurity resources and solutions to safeguard regional organizations.
