RemitHope Launches 100 for 10 Campaign to Support African Communities
RemitHope, a groundbreaking fintech social enterprise founded by philanthropist Tsitsi Masiyiwa, has announced an ambitious initiative to raise $100,000 within a span of 60 days. This fundraising campaign, themed “100 for 10,” is designed to provide essential support to ten grassroots organizations that serve some of Africa’s most vulnerable populations.
Empowering Local Organizations
The focus of the “100 for 10” campaign is to deliver transformative assistance to organizations dedicated to health, education, gender equality, and community resilience. The selected beneficiaries represent nine African nations and include: Cancerserve in Zimbabwe, Cáritas Regional De Chokwe in Mozambique, Empowered Girls in Tanzania, Ewang’an Nadede Advocacy Initiative in Kenya, Child Restoration Outreach in Uganda, Hands of Hope in Zimbabwe, Bana Ba Metsi in Botswana, Njira Impact in Malawi, Phelisanong Children’s Centre in Lesotho, and Refugee Children’s Project in South Africa.
“The 100 for 10 campaign aims to leverage small acts of kindness into substantial opportunities for communities that often go unnoticed. Each contribution will foster hope, dignity, and a pathway to progress,” stated Mrs. Masiyiwa.
Campaign Details and Impact Matching
Set to run from September 15 to November 15, 2025, the campaign highlights RemitHope’s emphasis on transparency, real-time updates, and direct funding to well-vetted local partners. This strategy ensures that every donated dollar translates into tangible improvements in the lives of those in need.
In a show of commitment, RemitHope will match every donation dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling the impact of each contribution. “If you give $5, it becomes $10; a $50 donation equates to $100. This is a powerful way to magnify hope, opportunities, and futures with each dollar contributed,” Mrs. Masiyiwa emphasized.
Building on Previous Success
This campaign follows RemitHope’s recent success, where the platform raised over $81,000 to assist in the rebuilding of the Mt Selinda Orphanage in Zimbabwe, which was devastated by a fire. This accomplishment showcased RemitHope’s capability to mobilize quickly and effectively, demonstrating the potential of crowdfunding for urgent needs.
“We’ve witnessed how extraordinary outcomes arise when people unite in times of crisis. With 100 for 10, we aim to channel that collaborative spirit into sustained community development,” Mrs. Masiyiwa added.
The Future of Diaspora Giving
RemitHope is working to unlock the immense potential of diaspora remittances, redirecting a portion of the over $90 billion sent to Africa annually into structured and impactful community support. By combining trust, cutting-edge technology, and focused generosity, the organization aims to mobilize $50 million for grassroots initiatives over the next five years.
