Kiran Chinnagangannagari, CTO & CPO at Securin, highlighted the importance of rigorous preparations and international cooperation to defend against various cyber threats. Josh Jacobson, Director of Professional Services at HackerOne, pointed out the potential financial gains for cybercriminals targeting multiple venues hosting Olympic events.

Dr. Martin J. Kraemer, Security Awareness Advocate at KnowBe4, noted the expected focus of cyberattacks on the Olympic Games and highlighted the need for enhanced cybersecurity measures. Abhilash Garimella, Vice President of Research at Bolster, expressed disappointment but not surprise at the ransomware attack, emphasizing the need for advanced detection capabilities to prevent such incidents.

With less than a week remaining in the 2024 Paris Olympics, security and IT teams are on high alert to protect athletes, attendees, and the city of Paris from cyber threats.
