Sophos and Tenable Join Forces to Launch Sophos Managed Risk Service

In a groundbreaking move to enhance cybersecurity measures, Sophos has announced a strategic partnership with Tenable to introduce Sophos Managed Risk, a cutting-edge vulnerability and attack surface management service. This collaboration brings together the expertise of both companies to provide organizations with a comprehensive solution to combat cyber threats.

The new service, Sophos Managed Risk, combines Tenable’s exposure management technology with the security operations expertise of Sophos Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team. This partnership aims to offer attack surface visibility, continuous risk monitoring, vulnerability prioritization, investigation, and proactive notification to prevent cyberattacks.

With the modern attack surface expanding beyond traditional IT boundaries, organizations are facing increased risks from unpatched or under-protected external assets. The Sophos Active Adversary Report highlights the importance of addressing vulnerabilities in external assets, such as open Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) access, enabling multi-factor authorization, and patching vulnerable servers to minimize the risk of cyber intrusions.

Rob Harrison, senior vice president for endpoint and security operations product management at Sophos, emphasized the significance of managing exposure risks to prevent costly breaches. The collaboration between Sophos and Tenable aims to help organizations identify and prioritize the remediation of vulnerabilities in external assets, devices, and software that are often overlooked.

Greg Goetz, vice president of global strategic partners and MSSP at Tenable, stressed the importance of proactive risk management to address known vulnerabilities before they become a problem. The Sophos Managed Risk service, powered by the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform, offers organizations a comprehensive approach to preventive risk management.

Sophos Managed Risk is available as an extended service with Sophos MDR, providing organizations with essential insights into the current threat landscape and recommendations for remediation. The service is available through Sophos’ global network of channel partners and Managed Service Providers (MSPs), with a Sophos MSP Flex version set to launch in 2024.
