Dark Web Hacker Advertises Hosocongty Data Breach on Nuovo BreachForums – Thousands of Job Seekers Exposed

A dark web hacker, going by the name “makishimaaaa,” has caused a stir by advertising a major data breach on the Nuovo BreachForums. This breach involves the Hosocongty, a well-known Vietnamese job search platform, and dates back to 2024. The hacker claimed to have accessed a PII (Personally Identifiable Information) database from the 2024 breach and is now offering it for sale for $320, containing approximately 160,000 sensitive records.

Hosocongty.vn plays a crucial role in connecting job seekers with employers in Vietnam, making this breach a matter of concern for both parties. The compromised database includes company names, passwords, contact details, and other personal identifiers. Potential buyers are instructed to contact the hacker privately, with the option of using escrow systems for transactions.

Makishimaaaa’s modest ransom request and status as a new member of the hacking forum suggest a developing situation. With only 38 posts since joining the platform in March 2024, the hacker appears to be methodically attempting to profit from the stolen data while avoiding suspicion.

The Cyber Express has reached out to Hosocongty for further information on the breach but has not received any official statement as of now. This breach is part of a worrying trend of cyberattacks targeting recruitment platforms. The recent attack on Das Team Ag in Switzerland and Liechtenstein by the Black Basta ransomware group underscores the vulnerability of the recruitment sector to such threats.

As cyber risks in the digital hiring process continue to rise, users of platforms like Hosocongty are urged to remain vigilant and implement robust security measures to protect their personal information. The Cyber Express will closely monitor this situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
