Synology Unveils ActiveProtect Appliances for Scalable, Centralised, and Streamlined Business Data Protection

Synology, a leading provider of data management solutions, has unveiled its new ActiveProtect appliances designed to revolutionize data protection for businesses. The ActiveProtect lineup offers centralized management and a scalable architecture for seamless ease of use.

According to Philip Wong, Chairman and CEO of Synology, “The launch of ActiveProtect reflects Synology’s commitment to empowering users with the tools to manage their most valuable asset – data. In today’s digital landscape, businesses face unprecedented challenges in safeguarding their data. With the new ActiveProtect offering, we aim to empower organizations of all sizes to address cybersecurity challenges head-on.”

ActiveProtect offers a unified management and control plane for organization-wide data protection policies, tasks, and appliances. It provides comprehensive coverage for endpoints, servers, hypervisors, storage systems, databases, and cloud services, reducing IT blind spots and the need for multiple data protection solutions.

Jia-Yu Liu, Executive Vice President at Synology, stated, “Organizations are tasked with maintaining complex and costly data protection strategies, and we aim to solve all the challenges at once with ActiveProtect. It is the culmination of extensive research, development, and experience working with our customers. We are confident in delivering a solution that will exceed modern businesses’ expectations.”

ActiveProtect appliances can be deployed quickly and offer global policy management, immutability, air gapping policies, and recovery procedures in a centralized console. With incremental backups and deduplication, ActiveProtect ensures fast backups and replication with minimal bandwidth usage, significantly reducing operating costs.

Synology’s ActiveProtect will be available through distributors and partners later in 2024, providing businesses with a comprehensive and streamlined data protection solution.
