UAE Cyber Security Council and Honeywell Strengthen National Cyber Resilience Through Strategic Collaboration
Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cyber Security Council (CSC) has partnered with Honeywell to enhance the nation’s cybersecurity landscape. This collaboration was announced during the Make it in the Emirates 2026 event and aims to develop advanced cybersecurity programs that bolster local cyber resilience capabilities, fostering a secure and sustainable digital economy.
Enhancing Cybersecurity Readiness
The partnership between CSC and Honeywell focuses on improving cybersecurity readiness across the UAE. This initiative will involve localizing cyber services, advancing capacity-building initiatives, and supporting the formulation of progressive cyber policies that align with national frameworks. The collaboration will leverage advanced technologies at the UAE’s National Security Operations Centre (NSOC) to implement innovative operational technology (OT) cybersecurity solutions. These measures are designed to protect critical industrial infrastructure, a vital component of the UAE’s economic framework.
Honeywell’s commitment to enhancing the UAE’s cybersecurity capabilities is evident through its establishment of a local Cybersecurity Center of Excellence. This center will provide training and advanced cybersecurity solutions tailored for key sectors, including energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
Commitment to Cyber Resilience
His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, emphasized the importance of this collaboration. He stated that it reflects the Cyber Security Council’s dedication to strengthening partnerships with leading global technology firms to enhance cyber resilience and develop local expertise. Dr. Al Kuwaiti highlighted the necessity of fortifying cybersecurity capabilities to protect national infrastructure and facilitate sustainable economic growth in an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.
As sectors within the UAE become more interlinked, the convergence of information technology and operational technology accelerates. This trend underscores the urgent need to safeguard critical industrial infrastructure against rising cyber threats.
Strategic Industrial Transformation
Uygar Doyuran, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell Process Automation for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, remarked on the significance of this collaboration. He noted that it reinforces Honeywell’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s industrial and digital transformation priorities. By merging global cybersecurity expertise with robust local capabilities, the partnership aims to enhance resilience across critical sectors, protect industrial operations, and equip organizations with the skills necessary to combat evolving cyber threats.
Honeywell’s role in advancing industrial cybersecurity in the Middle East is pivotal. The company has been delivering localized solutions that address the dynamic threat landscape. According to Honeywell’s latest 2025 Cyber Threat Report, there has been a 46% increase in ransomware extortion incidents globally during the recent reporting period. Furthermore, 55% of self-reported cybersecurity incidents in 2024 were direct attacks on operational technology.
Addressing Evolving Threats
Honeywell’s collaboration with CSC will leverage intelligence derived from cybersecurity solutions that have analyzed over 253 billion records and scanned more than 79 million files. This data-driven approach will assist UAE organizations in bolstering operational resilience, safeguarding critical environments, and effectively responding to an increasingly complex threat landscape.
