Embracing Diversity: The Key to Enhanced Cybersecurity Strategies at Credible Security
Diverse Backgrounds Fuel Innovation at Credible Security
As the cybersecurity landscape becomes increasingly complex, a trio of diverse leaders is turning traditional notions on their head with the launch of Credible Security, an independent consultancy aimed at enhancing cloud service security for underserved business teams. Co-founders Josh Yavor, Kim Burton, and Jessica Walters believe that their varied backgrounds—ranging from teaching to classical literature—equip them with unique perspectives crucial for tackling modern challenges in cybersecurity.
"Working together has taught us that the difference between an acceptable and a great approach to security is not just technical know-how, but also empathy, communication, and trust," Yavor asserts. This foundation of collaboration drives Credible Security’s mission to help companies—particularly those in early growth stages—navigate their security needs while maintaining strong relationships with their customers.
Founded in 2025, the company focuses on business-to-business enterprises, specifically targeting teams that interact with the public and face unique security hurdles. With hands-on experience from notable firms like Cisco, Duo Security, and Tessian, the trio emphasizes the value of diverse experiences in avoiding groupthink and fostering innovation. “When you have a team with varied backgrounds tackling security challenges, everyone can draw from their unique experiences,” says Burton.
Credible Security aims to shift the conversation around trust and compliance. Yavor points out that many organizations still conflate compliance with trustworthiness. “Compliance is just a checkbox,” he explains. Instead, building genuine trust involves a deeper understanding of client needs and aligning strategies to meet them effectively.
With their blend of education, technical know-how, and real-world experience, the founders of Credible Security are not just offering a service—they’re rewriting the playbook on how security can be an asset and a competitive advantage in a cloud-driven world.
